Its the tar sands. There's more crude in those sands that all of Saudi Arabia. Of course extracting it is kinda expensive but....

Saudi Arabia is quoted as having 260 thousand million barrels of proved oil reserves.
Canada is quoted as having 6 thousand million barrels of proved oil reserves.

I wouldn't mind knowing generally how much oil Alberta is supposed to have.

Alberta has 260 billion barrels of proven reserves. The rest of Canada has negative 254 billion barrels of proven reserves.

          260 + -254 = 6

Seriously, Canada, Mexico, and the US are already incredibly interrelated. Canada and Mexico currently need the US for trading, and the US gets a great deal of resources and trade from Canada and Mexico. Perhaps, in the future, the 3 countries will unite, and form some greater union.

Canadian money is not the equivalent to Monopoly money. 100 Canadian dollars will buy you 18 Monopoly dollars, a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card, and the race-car.

Not if I can prevent it. Thanks, but no thanks on the offer to lose all traces of our heritage in the American melting pot...

The oil sands alone in Alberta, which are now being tapped into, have over 1.6 trillion barrels of bitumen, which (using current technology) means 311.3 billion barrels, which is more of all of Saudi Arabia's entire supply of 260 billion. And the oil sands are only 40% of the oil supply in Alberta, known so far (they're always looking for even more).

Development has just started recently in the oil sands, and it'll be a while before huge production starts of oil from there.

Give us time! We need to find a suitable pretext to conquer them first before talk of integration can begin.

Are you somehow saying that that hasn't already happened? Besides, America is a Mosaic of multi-ethnicities!

America is a melting pot, Canada is a mosaic.

                    There's a difference.

It's not nearly at the same level as what it's like in Canada, though.

At least that's what I've heard and seen with my own eyes, living in both countries.

I see far more people who don't hestitate to wear turbans or cloth-on-the-head for girls (I don't know what it's called) in Canada than I ever did in the States.

In the US there's far more drive to fit in, and to persue the American Dream.

Chinatown is nothing special, most cities have that.

You don't seem to understand, but I'm talking about how all of these cultures are mostly spread out and in most areas in Canada, where they don't feel the need to live in "cultural enclaves" as they do in the States.

It largely has happened in practicality, but not officialy. Thats what I am referring to.
