The spanish economy makes Argentina look like a success story.

Why do you think that the people in Gibraltar are out in the streets protesting they want nothing to do with you.

Still it can`t be easy having that insult to your national pride stuck to that dust bowl of a fourth world country of yours and seeing that Union Jack proudly flying from up high.

There is an Afghans saying that has sprung up over the last 20 years of fighting, it goes something like "well at least we are not Spanish"

Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

                Let's see.

                Spanish-American War- Check.

                Phillipines- Check.

                WW1- Check.

                WW2- Check.

Korean War- Eh. We didn't conquer N Korea, but as that wasn't our goal and we were only in a limited war, I'll put Check.

Vietnam- We get involved in a long, drawn out, bloody affair.

                Gulf War- Check.

                Afghanistan- Apparently, Check.

You've really gotta wonder how a nation who lost to pacifists in India can complain about the American war record.

You ignorant **** why don't you look at the facts... Spain is the fastest growing economy in the EU.

                    The Spanish Economy jackass:

Spain's mixed capitalist economy supports a GDP that on a per capita basis is 80% that of the four leading West European economies. Its center-right government successfully worked to gain admission to the first group of countries launching the European single currency on 1 January 1999. The AZNAR administration has continued to advocate liberalization, privatization, and deregulation of the economy and has introduced some tax reforms to that end.

Spain now has one of the fastest growing OECD economies. The labor force is well qualified with relatively low labor costs. Privatization is introducing greater competition into the telecommunications, electricity, gas, and oil refining sectors.

Real convergence with the major European economies seemed possible in 1986-1991 as Spain posted the highest investment-led output growth in the OECD. By 1991, GDP per capita stood at almost 80% of the EC average. In 1992, however, Spain plunged into recession along with its major trading partners. In 1992-1993, three devaluations of the peseta, by a total of 18%, just managed to keep it within the ERM. Economic recovery produced growth of 3% by 1995, including strong domestic demand, and this has since been maintained. Spain succeeded in meeting the economic convergence criteria necessary for economic and monetary union and was among the 11 EU countries to introduce the euro in January 1999.

Why do you think that the people in Gibraltar are out in the streets protesting they want nothing to do with you.
They will get to keep their autonomy. At least we respect minorities... unlike Britain. Damn, your people beat the **** out of Asians who try to make a decent living. At least we respect Moroccans and Ecuadorians who come to our country.

Still it can`t be easy having that insult to your national pride stuck to that dust bowl of a fourth world country of yours and seeing that Union Jack proudly flying from up high.
How about a ****hole country like yours that is in the fifth world on the level of Zaire worse beyond belief? I mean those hooligans were enough during soccer games... what else? There is this big deal about some old fart queen dying... wow! BIG DAMN DEAL!

There is an Afghans saying that has sprung up over the last 20 years of fighting, it goes something like "well at least we are not Spanish"

And at least we got that $19,000 Per Capita Income.

And our military makes Argentina look very small.

Who cares about stupid wars and how great your economy is?

The real measure of a country is its weather, its women, and how big its parties are. Unfortunately the UK is severly lacking in all three categories. You'd think that after owning then losing half the world you people would know what is important in life.
When one is someone, why should one want to be something?

Weather? You can get nice beach weather down in Grenada, and nice ski weather up in the mountains. The women? Well that is for you to decide. Parties? I dunno about those... Spain does have quite a night life though.

Not to mention Britain fought in Afghanistan and didn't win. The US did.
