The Saudi press is behind the times. At the last meeting of the Elders of Zion, the blood libel was scrapped. The ingredients of matzo still include sweat and tears.
    I refute it thus!

Are you arguing that the translations are inaccurate?
Not to excuse the blood of children in food bullsh*t, but then, the Israelis are killing rather a lot of Palestinian children. Perhaps it's meant to be metaphorical?
Seemed rather intricate for that, no?

I'm not saying they are, but I am raising the possibility that this website may be gasp! biased, and its translations less than objective.

Since I don't know Arabic of Farsi all that well (read: not at all), I can't say one way or another.

I'd be more likely to take them at their word if they were as critical of Israeli news.

There are a number of dubias sites out there all suspiciously showing arabs to be minds bigots. Its part of the hearts and minds war. Like the Anti defamation League in the US that is used to shut anyone up who is remotely anti Israeli. Of course these things eventually do more harm to their own side then anyone else.

Find a translation mistake in this site.

Or you could just keep living in illusions concerning the Arab media.

I read in today´s newspaper that Saudi religiuos police stopped young women to leave a burning house because they didn´t wear their abayas, a cloth which covers the whole body. 15 of the women died. Link: http://www.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/meast/...eut/index.html

Aren't the Jews forbidden to eat anything with blood? Isn't that impure?
And shouldn't the Arabs be forbidden too?

I have to say that, if the reported writing was trully done by an Arab is a sad demonstration of biggotry from the person that wroted it and the editorial board that allowed it to be printed (and most likely from the authorities, if they didn't public criticized this kind of actions).

The problem is that, in a first glance of the site, as chegitz points out, we don't find a single reference to Israel which is strange in a self-proclamed non-partizan, unbiased information center. In the archives you actually find a few (less than 10 in a page full of others). I suppose one is to expect that, because they search news from all ME Countries so the proportion is srongly against Israel.

Another problem is that I couldn't find any reference to News that would point out to some Hope in all this process. If all the facts were to be consensed in these archives, one would be forced to expect there is no hope.

A final point is that, a survey of the articles, even those related to Israel shows that MEMRI is definetly one-sided and partizan. Basicly all references to Arab articles are references of hate speeches and all references to Israelli articles are basicly against Arafat and the Peace effort.

It all comes to say that it is not because one institution praclaims to be unbaised that it is. As Christ said, we have to know a tree by the fruit it gives. The "fruits" of this site are simple hatred, distrust and a sense of hopelessness. Just what the Peace process needs, right now.

The point here is that, even if everything there is true, by showing only a part of the truth simply promotes a lie.

The Memri article is a very good example of classical propaganda. The article is filled with details of how the blood is spilled from the body, which draw attention from the main point - that nothing is true in the first place. The Nazis used similar propaganda on the Jews during the 30s.

Maybe because there is nothing more radical than that in the Israeli newspapers?
