if I came round to your house with a gun when you were a kid, and I'd kicked your family out, and then I gave it to someone else, would you consider it unjust to want to get it back

More like If you came to my house with a gun and kicked my family out and then sold it, would my great-great-great-great-great-great grandchildren be considered unjust to get it back.

That example is a bit more interesting (and closer to the truth).

You are nitpicking, but OK: I should have said: The accusations against Saddam come from his mortal enemies, and cannot be taken at face value by any means.

Yep, human rights organizations such as Amnesty International are actually fronts for the CIA!

      I haven't heard that. I'd appreciate a source...

Imran: So if killing civillians is just modern war, I suppose you won't consider it anything other than standard war if Israel carpet bombs Palestinian residential neighborhoods into submission or if the US decides to flatten Baghdad and kill its people?

        Ramo: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/wor...00/1851804.stm

Arafat officially condems these bombings, but the letter bearing his signature sent to congradulate the family of the Dolphinarium bomber, and the fact that neither he nor any other Fatah leader has, as far as I know, declared the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades persona non grata in the movement suggests that he is encouraging this.

The tribunal itself is illegal. It should be dismissed.

Israel is very close to doing so.

Of course, that won't work, just make them more angry.

Talk about hyperbole. 1000 Palestinians killed in 18 monthes, and only a small minority in airstrikes. Lets compare that to 5,000 or so Iraqi civillians killed in six monthes of extremely careful targetted bombing by US forces. Israel's air force operations have not even come close to being attacks on general infrastructure, let alone blowing up whole cities.
Of course, that won't work, just make them more angry.
I think it would be quite effective - it worked for Hafez Assad. But it would be evil.

'Impartiality' is not a solution, either, because in the real world it does not -and cannot- exist. The truth is: If you don´t take sides you are irrelevant. I make no secret of whose side I am standing on.

They were expelled by whom? The Romans, I suppose. By your logic, the Greeks should conquer Turkey and ethnically cleanse it -like the Zionists cleansed Palestine-, because before the Ottomans Turkey was part of the Byzantine Empire. The first who recognized Israel was Stalin. Probably no coincidence.

                  Why is the tribunal illegal?
Security Council has no judicial rights under the UN Charter. ICTY operates in a legal vacuum.

Certainly not. Only hardcore Nazi Revisionists attack the Nuremberg Tribunal on similar grounds as you did. And even hardcore Nazi Revisionists do not always go so far as to say 'Crimes against Peace' are a trumped up charge. You are in a category of your own there.

Very different. Milosevic never started a war of aggression.

Quite apart from the fact that Milosevic is not guilty: Had the Nazis committed their crimes only in Germany, it would have been no one else´s business.

That´s what I say. So what gave the Jews a right to return to Palestine (except if the Palestinians allowed them)?

You know, there were a lot more charges than "waging aggressive war" at Nuremberg. There's a reason that it was Nazis rather than Communists on trial for invading Poland.

And I'm the Nazi apologist? Comrade Tribune, do some research, many people who were by no means Nazis thought that certain charges brought up at Nuremberg should not have been.
