      Ottawa?! WHY?!
      The city is hideous!

Skating on the canals during winter, it's very beautiful. And this from an Albertan

Ottawa is a nice sight.. that kind of look is evident on a much higher level in Quebec city and Montreal, however. Victoria is gorgeous as well... will top my list if Vancouver doesn't slow the rampant infestation sometime soon.

The most beautiful city has got to be in Europe.

Everyone who is not talking about a european city makes himself look silly or he hasn't been to Europe

Bleggggh. I'm in Ottawa almost every year due to relatives and I can't stand the city.

The canals are nothing. You can go skating by the Bow here during the winter and that's much more beautiful than Ottawa's canals.

And paiktis22 is right. European cities are more beautiful than cities in North America, because they've got the history and depth to them that we can't offer.

And I'll have you know southerwestern Alberta is very beautiful, what with the mountains and rivers and all.

                What about Quebec City?

Quebec City is still nothing compared to some cities in Europe.

Plus part of beauty is the sound in the city: French is bad enough on its own, but Quebec uses a bastardized French that's even worse.

Paiki is probably right... my choices reflect where I have been, which is limited to North America. Want the worst city in the world? Bar none, Los Angeles.

...and Auckland looks absolutely gorgeous. I love the towers role in the skyline.

Lately, I've started to fancy Toronto a helluva lot.

                              Must....go...there...now.

I know i'm biased, but until i visit europe, i must say Sydney, especially from the water. Jerry Seinfeld visited a few years ago, and he left saying that North Sydney had the highest number of beautiful women per kilometre in the world. I couldn't agree more

Victoria, B.C was beautiful, as was Christchurch, New Zealand, except for the sheep surprisingly close to the centre of the city. Maybe it was a brothel
