Why can't they? Russia has always been very close to Europe. Heck, they controled nearly half of it a few decades ago. Just curious.

Russia is reluctant to join any European Confederation. Rather, they are the 3rd road. They are instead forming there own Union's with Belarus, Moldovia, Checneya, and even a move to unite with some others. So ya, I see the Soviet Union re-emerging. Except without the Communism. It will most definetaly be friendly to the USA. As we seek new oil. We are improving contacts with Russia daily. So I dont foresee Russia joining the EU.Comment
