In a closely contested decision, Southern.
        As in Chicken Fried Steak.
If I'm ever convicted for offing Ming , I want my Last Meal to be:

Chicken Fried Steak and Mashed Potatoes with Cream Gravy
        Black Eyed Peas
        Large Glass of Milk
        Cherry Cobbler

I have to go now, I've made myself hungry.

Japanese - without doubt. And not just for sushi/sashimi (though you've gotta love fresh salmon sashimi or a spicy tuna roll). I challenge anyone to try the smoked black cod from Kamei Royale in Vancouver, B.C. and try to claim any cuisine has produced something more incredible. The Japanese selection is pretty pedestrian here in NYC, but I can still get my weekly fix of goma-ae, ebi sumitomo and (for the fat lover in all of us) tonkatsu. Makes me hungry just typing about it.

                Thai plot

I just read in the current The Economist that the Thai government is increasing the aid it gives to thai restaurants around the world and will make it easier for new ones to open, as a sort of gastronomical diplomacy. So all of those that love Thai, it is all a Bangkok plot!

There's more than one way to stir a fry, Imran...

I meant 'in'. Can't you lay off a guy's typos

Wasn't a greasy stir-fry and there wasn't any soy-sauce or anything in it which I agree would be gross. There was a lot of really nice peanut sauce that made the noodles nice and wet and the pineapple soaked up that flavor and the tumeric and cumin. Came pretty close to being curried noodles and anyone who knows anything knows pineapple is great in curry

I've always wondered - what the hell did Italians eat before the introduction of tomatoes? Anyway, it's good now, although i think Thai is better

I should have picked SE asian. I really don't know enough about the foods to tell the difference. I actually picked chinese.

But my friend who is half Thai has taken me to Thai restaurants. And of course the spiceyness (made up word) was very nice. Something I don't find in most chinese food. But the spiceyness wasn't too overwhelming like some masochists I know that order special hot sauce from special companies to put on their wings and such. I prefer not to expel pure fire when I sit on the toilet.
