Why do you assume the military types would all join you? If there were a split, I can imagine a few might side with you, and a few would side with us or alternatively, they would withdraw from the stupidity until both sides came to their senses and began to cooperate again, assuming they aren't rat bastards who would try to force all the rest of us to be their slaves.

Shhhh! Don´t make them aware of my secret diplo strategy. I will forge an alliance with the Militarists and the Church, like I always do in 'Tropico'.
