No. It just costs more if you're 21-24.

      Is that excluding airfare?

It depends on the hotels or if you get a place in someone's house, and car rentals, etc.

I'd say it's definitely possible, excluding airfare.

I'd even go as far as letting you stay at my place for a few days if you're in Calgary.

As to ashers route, leave off Montana and Alberta, and hit Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe instead...you could make it work. still a lot of driving tho...

The countryside is fantastic, the people are friendly, the women are beautiful, the clubs are great, and It is pretty much everything all rolled into one. You are more than welcome to stay with me a day or two if you'd like, and I can show you around Dallas, Houston or Austin. Oh, and did i mention the women? The food is the best anywhere too

You can get the food just about anywhere, the women are certainly nothing special.

What do you mean the countryside is fantastic? It's rather dull most of the time, and it peaks at mediocrity. I've been there once, on a driving trip, and I'm not compelled to go back again. Ever.

The people there are nice, provided you are a Good Little Christian.

Seeing as I'll be 19 I think I wouldn't be able to appreciate Las Vegas

Coming from a man who has never seen the Canadian Rockies. Tsk tsk.

Texas and California are my favorite states. Travel on route 66 if you're able. Try route 1 - Pacific Coast Highway.

I had a nice map with the above roads plus 9 others like: The ExtraTerrestrial Highway, The Great Northerner, The Lonliest Road in the World and so on, but can't find the link now.

                          yay!
asher: we have big cities....Houston and Dallas are some of the biggest in the united states (houston is 4, dallas is 8)...
this also includes san antonio (9 in the nation) and austin (16) ..four BIG in texas made the top 20 in size....close up is El Paso at 23, Fort worth at 17, Arlington is at 54, Corpus Christi (awesome beach resort place) at 61, Plano at 79, Garland at 82, and Lubbock at 91.....
(btw: me and kaak live in waco...#201 in the US)...but that Texas has 11 of it's cities in the Top 100 cities in the US is prolly better that any other state can claim. Asher is just miffed that we're not all scrunched up together like sardines...which makes for great starry nights and beautiful sun rises and sets......

Of course Texas has big cities. But that doesn't change the fact that there's nothing to see there...

And compared to Canada, you're WAY WAY WAY more scrunched up together like sardines. Even Texas.

                              Yes, well there is that...

                              Tahoe, tho, gotta hit tahoe...

Hmm...You should probably start in Louisiana...

Louisiana --> Texas --> New Mexico --> Colorado --> California (Tahoe) --> Oregon.

Just my suggestion, but i think you would see more and drive less...

Having lived in Northern California for four years, I think it's safe to say Tahoe is overrated.

It's like the Little Brother of real mountain resorts like Banff and ones in Colorado.

The Bay Area is a must ,though. Definitely take Route 1 up the west coast, too. Stunning scenery.
