  • Israel will react very very very very seriously

    Today, two things happenned.

    One
A group of terrorists opened fire on a restaurant in southern city of Be'er Sheva and injured several and killed two female soldiers.

One terrorist was killed on the spot by a soldier.

A second terrorist ran away and tried to enter a school building in the premesis and was shortly killed by police. He was carrying a bomb suit which was later detonated by police.

A third terrorist has reportedly escaped and vast searches brought no result.

    Two, and most important:
Today, two missiles of type Kassam-2 were fired by Hamas on Israeli soil. The missiles are more powerful than mortars and have a range of up to 7 Km. Currently, their range covers major Israeli population centers.

The missiles were launched at small sized population centers, and both didn't hurt anyone. An Israeli tank noticed the launch site and shot into it, thereby disabling it.

For weeks now, Israeli government said that usage of the Kassam 2 Missiles, able to hit major population centers will bring a very different and drastic response.

Currently, the political cabinet is in a meeting which could have very serious consequences, even upto declaring all out war on the PA. It is suspected that war will not be declared since the missiles were not shot at major population centers, yet, but very serious steps will indeed be taken.

I guess the genocide Israel's been waging up to now was just off the cuff.

Is Arafat still stuck in Ramallah (?) with nowhere to go? If so, I'd be crapping it if i were him.

It´s interesting to see how the jewish master race treats the palestinians. It´s usually like 10-1 in retribution, not unlike the nazi approach to resistance fighters in WW2.

The palestinians have suicide bombers and stone throwing kids. Israel has tanks and fighter jets. You do the math, desperate situations creates desperate measures

                  Siro :

                  You're wrong.
Sharon stated couple of times that firing Kassam-2 missiles on Israeli population centers will be considered as a causus belli.
In this case, the missiles were fired on an empty field, and the Hamas just wanted to demonstrate that he has them and wanted to show what they can do.

Of course that the smart reaction should be "very very very very serious". Remember when mortars were fired on Sderot and Israel conqured part of the Gaza Strip? While today such short term conquering are done on almost daily basis, for that period it was an unprecedented action and the Pals understood the message. Since then mortars were fired only in the Gaza Strip, and when they fired outside of it they aimed at empty fields.
Unfortunately, any serious action wont happen until Kassam-2 missiles will be raining on Gush Dan.

All I can say is that bombing the Palestinian goon station in Tulkarm or wherever is about as brain-dead a response as you can get. The cabinet has to figure out how to actually get at Hamas - not just trying to "pressure" the PA or "send a message to the Palestinians." If they don't have a good plan, they shouldn't be acting at all.

Chegitz: I don't see how a people who have the fastest growth rate in the world can be experiencing genocide.

The vast majority of the Palestinians died during clashes with Israeli forces.
Take the time to read reports about the Israeli retaliations after teracts in the last year. In almost all cases the Pals had less than 10 injured. So while this argument is correct when you look on the casualty figures, it is invalid when you look on the numbers of the Pal casualties from Israeli retaliations.

Again, this could've been correct if Israel had used fighter jets against stone throwers, and the Pals had used suicide bombers against tanks.
But in the reality, the pals use suicide bombers against innocent civilians and Israel uses fighter jets against innocent bricks and walls.

Amusing that there's been no response to this, n'est ce pas?

Neither side can claim to be innocent and neither can claim the moral high ground, simply because there isn't any left in the Middle East.

You know, I think that many more than ten times more Serbs than Americans died in the Kosovo war, yet I don't think there's any comparison to Nazis. And besides, the actual ratio is about 5-1, with a bit over 200 Israeli casualties and a bit over 1000 Palestinian ones.
                          The palestinians have suicide bombers
You'd like to face suicide bombers?
                          and stone throwing kids.
You left out tens of thousands of gunmen, 82mm mortars, RPGs, and now artillery pieces.

Military superiority does not imply moral inferiority, but it often backs up moral inferiority.

Anyway, returning to the topic of the thread: Israel´s situation will become very, very, very, very serious, indeed, the moment the American taxpayer stops funding its expansionist, racist policies. That moment may be nearer than some think.

Both sides guilty, neither willing to admit it...

Both sides on this conflict are guilty of many things, thought not always the same things. Both sides are also convinced that they are the victims, the others the victimizers, and thus won't as of now, admit their guilt for the conflict. *** for Tat violence will continue endlessly since neither side really is willing to go 'all the way', regardless the counsel of extremist on both sides.

I say the international community cut both sides off completely, as a method of punishing both sides fro their respective crimes. Let the moderates in both sides see that the extremists and their dreams will lead them to ruin, and maybe they will get the guts to act about it. Otherwise, there will be no resolution. The world has not done enough. Its clear that this is not a situation that will be solved by the parties- a solution should be imposed on them.
