  • How rich is rich?

I was intrigued by a thread on Newsmax where someone earning $130,000 p.a. was complaining about how little money he had left after he paid taxes, health insurance, mortgage and kids' education.

Resisting the urge to say 'Go **** yourself, you whinging ****, you earn more than our prime minister', it made me wonder when just when you can sit back and think 'I've made it'.

    Probably never?

I make MUCH less than that and I don't have any complaints about money. Most people that complain about money don't know jack about budgeting and spend foolishly.

          (1) Your age in 1000 * US dollars is getting by.
          (2) Twice your age is comfortable.
          (3) Thrice and above is rich.

          Aim for (2).
Get your ass in gear if you are below (1).
Trade off salary for family and quality of life if you are above (3).

There are Rich people who earn less money than upper-middle-class people. It's more about lifestyle.
                  I refute it thus!
"Destiny! Destiny! No escaping that for me!"

I earn less than one, but to do with the fact that I am a student, which shouldn't be the case for much longer...

Depends on where you live as well. If you earn about £30k in London, you will probably be struggling...if you earn that much in Hull, you can afford to live like a prince due to vast differences in property prices...

Nothing, it just seems a bit high.
