Well, you couldn't stay away from us for very long, so when do you think you'll be demanding your old position at the University back?

Much as I hate to say it, the bright side of touring down under is that 3700 [Darnit can't find the pound symbol-thingy on this keyboard] lbs is an awful lot of cash with the exchange rate being what it is at the moment...

What, exactly, is your area of research, Rich?

I'm sure a good Biotech job shouldn't be difficult too find with a BS (or MS).

Are research opportunities better elsewhere? Would it help to move abroad to continue it?

Hehe, a good point My head is in a bit of a spin at the moment because although ideally I don't want to quit, conditions just don't feel right for me continuing. It comes down to more than an issue of boredom as well but of support, facilities and backup, and this is why I don't want to return. It doesn't necessary mean an exit from research, but an end to my PhD. I just felt like I was going nowhere.

Are you gonna send me a Curriculum Vitae then? My dad has been asking around and there are certainly a few doors open to you.

Though he did say quitting your Ph.D and blaming the NHS/Condition is not the way to go about things.
