how many 14 year olds have STD's? not many. And I would prefer legal age of course. Going to jail doesn't suit my lifestyle much.

Let's put it this way.

I don't believe any of those stats. It's a bunch of bull****.

Like I said in my post above, the most recent stats I seen showed teenage intercourse dropping. but what is happening is teenage girls (and boys) turn to oral sex as an alternative. Granted disease can be spread this way. But disease is not that rampant among teenagers. Most teenage sex occurs in a well defined group without many outsiders.

The same goes with teenage drug use. The latest stats I seen show use of hard drugs decreasing despite the increase in population. the only thing remaining constant was marijuana use. And because of the relatively new drug exctasy, the use of that drug has increased. It should level off.

I get tired of these alarmist things that say teenagers are a bunch of drug using sex addicts. They are still much better than teenagers of the late 60's.

it depends on where you are at

my hometown and the surrounding area is pretty bad (and as I described)

STDs are rampant there and even at 14 (probably would have to go to 12 or 13 to decrease chance of STDs to not likely)

my college is allright (some of all types)

I think it is more of a spotty thing, but some pklaces where you least expect it can be horrible

I live in a city where there a millions of things to do. Of course teenagers still complain about nothing to do. Granted you have to be 21 to do most things where I live. But who doesn't have a fake ID nowdays .

I wouldn't be surprised if sexual activity rates were slightly higher in small towns. They see the animals doing it etc. Similar with low socio economic areas, teenage single mothers, general social decay, crime, drugs etc.

But I really think teenagers exagerate. Adults are no different but they exagerate or minmise about different things - earnings, alcohol use etc.

Mine is based on scientific fact, sex is valued by humans and teens are ready to go. It seems like a better idea to try and make sex safer than to try and ban it.

Newsflash kiddos: I'm an atheist, and a liberal. I vote on the most anti-religious party we have, I'm allergic to churches, I don't own a bible or a cross and I "mock the word of God" on a daily basis.
