Nice try, arse, but it is your country's lack of space that prevents large things. Did you happen to notice how big everything else around you was there, as well?

The concentration of caffeine in coke is too low to satisfy my addiction; espresso is far superior.

Of the various soft drinks, IMO Dr. Pepper is the best in terms of taste, but it has way too much salt (in addition to all of the other unhealthy crap soft drinks generally have). You don't want to physically exert yourself after having one of those.

I generally stick with iced tea given the option.

i find i'm more tired when drinking things with caffeine than when not....

Not so, bell end, several of the shops in London are the World's largest of their categories actually!

Next you'll be telling me you've got hypermarket sized McDonald's over there with 100+ cash registers!

No, compared to Boston at least - our shops are comparable in size to yours, except maybe the largest of your super/hypermarkets...

We're just obviously not as big a nation of hypercondriac pill poppers as you guys!
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

I like a nice soda (generally Coke or Sprite) every now and then, but I don't have any addiction problem. I don't understand people who are addicted to any form of food. I mean, I understand that many people have trouble resisting the urge to eat and drink whatever it is they like, but I've never felt so strongly about any food or group of foods that I couldn't give them up if I were so inclined. In fact, it would be very, very hard for me to drink even a quarter as much soda as FG does on a regular basis, since it would do weird stuff to my metabolism and appetite.

The fact that caffine is a drug might explain it. Imagine if they still spiked it with cocaine like they used to.

What ratio of cokes do you think is safe?

                1 a day? 2 or day?

And if you really need caffeine, would you think that coffee or tea is better?

I usually only drink 2 a day, if that.

I like the taste of soft drinks better. But a good pot of iced tea is pretty good as well.

                    That could be your stomach.
Considering that coke has a pH of 4/5 and your stomach has a pH of 0.5/1 I'd say that corroding your stomach is not going to happen in a million years. In fact, I'd recommend it if you have stomack ulcers!

I think you all should be glad to have withdrawels from coke. With all the stupid **** I do to my body, I would never recognize coke withdrawels from anything else!

Your stomach's closer to 2, and coke seems to be 3.4 (some people claim 2.8, but these seem to be less credible sources).

By the way, something tells me your logic is slightly flawed...

I remember a long while back that some US govt body decided to impose a requirement upon foods to carry a health warning for acid content above a certain level (deemed damaging I suppose). Soon Coke was on the case and that level was adjusted so that Coke didn't have to carry the warning. I guess that they must have had some new insight into the results of that govt report.

I say that Osweld has it absolutely correct:
It's simple, instead of pouring a glass of pepsie, pour a glass of nice cold ice water, and drink that instead.

I used to drink as much as 2 litres of sprite everyday, all it took was a brita water filter to get me drinking water
again (not very good water where I lived)
I think it is the advertising that has confused my mind - when I get thirsty, I think... "Where can I get a Coke?" ... "or maybe a beer?" ..."what can I buy?".
If I ignore these thoughts and drink much water, it goes away - it is called thirst, but advertising has turned it into a money spinner.

...so how much are you spending per year, Faded? ...and do you really enjoy drinking the stuff? Why not try an enjoyable vice like quality chocolate?

I only drink it when I am feeling weak.
"I'm so happy I could go and drive a car crash!"
"What do you mean do I rape strippers too? Is that an insult?"

I'm a serious Cokeaholic too. I drink in spurts though, I usually go months at a time without drinking, then when I go back, its a case every day or two. Then it starts making me feel like crap, so I go off of it for another month or two.

I love all of these Urban Myths about cola in this thread!
