Let's find out. Take one corroded car battery and pour coke on it, then take another and vomit on it. If anybody performs this experiment, please report back on the results.

Btw, it's also a great material for washing toilets.
I think that's Coke Eli... higher acid content than Pepsi. They also use coke to wash blood off of the streets after an accident. I loves my Coke!

Yes, carbonated drinks are nasty. I won't touch them. They are toxic in so many ways:

            1) Caffeine is in the same chemical family as cocaine, and it basically does the same thing. Caffeine is actually more powerful per gram than cocaine; if you snorted a line of it it you would die. So the thread title "Addicted to Coke" is much more than a pun; many of you are suffering the equivalent of a low-level cocaine addiction. Studies have shown that children who have their soft drinks taken away suffer clinical withdrawal symptoms.

            2) Refined sugar is death to teeth, waistlines, and metabolisms. Just say no.

            3) The phosphorus and other chemicals in these drinks will leach all the calcium right out of your bones. Say hello to osteoporosis.

Add this up and you get a prduct that offers nothing but drug addiction, empty calories, and health problems. Normally I'm pro-business, but I agree with the leftists on this one. Coca-Cola and Pepsi are merchants of death. I view them the same way I view tobacco companies.

We need to attack this pestilence; a surgeon general's warning on every can or bottle would be a good place to start. Then they should work toward advertising restrictions and eventual regulation as a drug by the FDA. Sound familiar?

              To quote a great writer:

They both (Coke & Pepsi) taste like malted battery acid.

It's hard to think of a more commonly consumed product that is so detrimental to health.

While we are talking about the evils of soft drinks, did you know that one in five (or was it four...) toddlers (between ages of 1 and 2) in the USA are fed some kind of soft drink?

Why anyone would feed pop to a baby is beyond me.

Sprite maybe......other than that...your right ozzie.

That baby would be belching all night, and crapping like an elephant that swallowed a laxative factory

The daily headaches I'd had for well over ten years were gone within two weeks of going cold turkey and my constant heartburn went away. I could now sleep through the night without waking up multiple times a night.

One of the smartest things I ever did.
                          Wow!!!

No wonder your chemists/pharmacies what have you are virtual supermarkets in the US - everyone must be suffering the effects of soft drink consumption!!!

When I was in Boston I had heartburn for some reason and visited one of the gigantic pharmacies there - you guys have entire aisles of antacid tablets where we only have a little shelf or two...

Still, it happens here too - a couple of my friends reckoned they drank about 1.5ltrs of coke a day...

Luckily although I like the taste of coke (Pepsi - UGH!), I can take it or leave it. My favourite drink is the one my Gran introduced me to over 20yrs ago - LUCOZADE!

Yep, although it may have suddenly become cool to drink it these past few years, the lucozade original flavour (The BEST!) glucose drink was developed for old people to keep their blood sugar levels up...

It's my favourite 'soft' drink, but I only average out to a few 330ml bottles every week - hardly the stuff of addictions...

Nope, my drink (food) of choice these days is a blended fruit drink with whatever's in the house (bananas, strawberries & grapes today) in a juice base (orange today) with some spirulina and maybe an egg added... Mmmmmmmmmm!

Try it! Tastes gorgeous and is very good for you - sets you up for the day!

BTW about the tooth in Coke trick - I tried that when I was about 12 or so with a molar!

Maybe the lesson learned that day is why I've never had a filling in my life!

My soft drinks of choice are Vernors ginger ale (apparently the oldest soft drink in the USA) and Brio (it's Italian, and everywhere in Canada; do you have it in the U.S.?). Normally, however, I just have iced tea or lemonade. Enough sugar to keep you going, and far less toxic.
                              I refute it thus!
