The currency is "dollars", the $1 coin is called the Loonie, because there is a picture of a Loon on it (imagine that).

Looky here! Just checked my wallet and I have a Letzebuerg 2 euro coin! National design looks very much like ours, so I didn't notice until now. Better spend it fast before shopkeepers refuse it.
