Because the USA supports Israel, and the USA has the loudest people in competition for public opinion. Those people have names like Tomahawk, Nighthawk, Pershing, etc. They are what makes their democracy so great. They and the fact that their great democracy doesn't find application when dealing with enemies of the democracy. Like helping them in reaching their goals, namely making democracy fail, would take them anywhere

Arafat probably has less affinity for getting the job done at the cost of killing innocent children.

        Natan,
Generally I would agree with you, but the Israelis have excellent intelligence, if they knew that terrorist was in that car, they knew where is was going and as soon as that car stopped they could have popped him there.

I guarantee if the Taliban were hiding in houses protected by children shields, which they could do, and if we started hitting those areas, our public would be up in arms in a hurry, it only takes one picture of a baby's body to start emotions, that is why we are so careful in how we attack. The smart weapons we have is the result of not wanting innocents killed if at all possible.

Are we talking about the USA that killed hundreds of absolutely innocent civilians in Afganistan?
And what is the American excuse? Exactly what I said.

But you are right of course. As Ecthelion said, you're the one with the Tomahawks.

uncalled for, but real... as for your first point, also nonsense... it just doesn't make sense. I say there is no need nor even the possibility to argue about the issue so we shouldn't, you say we should because we outh to practise... riiight

              Natan,
Generally I would agree with you, but the Israelis have excellent intelligence, better than our own, and if they knew the terrorists was in that car, they knew where that car was headed, they could have waited and executed him when absolute minimal civilian damage could have occured.

If the al-qaida were going to use child shields and we started hitting them and killing children I can guarantee you our own public would be up in arms over the massacre of children, it only takes on picture of a torn apart child. That is why we put so much effort into smart weapons so we can yield the smallest possible civilian loss.

What they did was stupid, I am not asking them to fight with their hands tied in a highly populated area, but hitting a car parked in heavy traffic with missiles is overboard.

Really? He had no problem with it during the '70's and '80's.....

I don't know where this response is going to show up, my response to Natan is on page one.
Eli, I did say accidents happen and yes we killed civilians with stray weapons or bad information, but your information was good and you chose to hit a car in heavy traffic with a child on board, no excuse. Smart weapons had nothing to do with this, it was a stupid decision and it was carried out.

Well, Palestinian children, let's say. I'm sure he wouldn't care too much about the deaths of Israeli kids, and vice versa.

Apply clarification, then tell me who is more likely to care about killing Palestinian children to capture terrorists.

Then please go and spank yourself, you scallywag.

I was laughing at the assumption that he cares about arresting terrorists.

If someone's disgusted at Israels killings of children, then chances are they're disgusted by all child-killings. If you think someone who has grave concerns every time an Israeli attack goes wrong, killing innocents (which is far too often for anyone's liking, non?) thinks it's okay for the other side to kill children, then I can only assume you come to that conclusion by applying your horrible standards to me.

Since he is giving official sanction to the use of child soldiers and "martyrdom operations," and since his security forces torture people to death and execute people who sell land to Jews, I doubt he cares much about such things.
Now that's a response. The only issue I have with this is that I'm referring to the capture of Palesinian terrorists, and I think it's quite clear that Sharon doesn't mind the odd child-killing if it help prevents a future terrorists. But in comparison, I doubt Arafat really cares about capturing terrorists. Basically, they're both crap.

If it's really that offensive, than I apologize. It just burns my ass that Infat would make that kind of comment.....Perhaps I should have said

"...says the person who's country has spent the last 400 yrs killin' and pillaging an entire Island that doesn't belong to them"?
