Music created wholly or partially using syntesisers and other electronic equipment, and emphasised as such. I mean, practically all new music uses electronic sound modification in some way, but that doesn't make it electronica. Just play good classical/instrumental music. Just about everybody can put up with it, and there's a lot of good stuff to choose from.
Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Vivaldi, Bartok, Wagner, Palestrina, Rachmaninoff, Messian, Ligeti, Copland, Stravinsky, etc.
Or maybe world music: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Yungchen Lhamo, Manu Chao, Mickey Hart, Afro Celt Sound System, Buena Vista Social Club, Mary Jane Lamond...
There's a reason they keep playing the Four Seasons in Penn Station. It relaxes people, and few fail to appreciate it.
Sure, this isn't what I, ideally, would play, but think of the masses...It is certain; my conviction gains infinitely the moment another soul chooses to believe in it.
