You donate 1% of your annual income to them? Mine's only 0.5%.

Funny how Allah let it strike the Muslim separatist part of Indonesia the worst, and how Hindu Bali gets off then....

Truly, the stupidity and the dignity of ordinary humanity are amazing.

And hence the crazy consipracy theory. Allah wouldn't wipe out the faithful, therefore it must be Americans, Zionists, or Hindus at fault.

Yes, but Allah could save the faithful, given that Allah is god....

            • My good friend from Colombo was due to fly to the UK on the 28th, thankfully she was ok, although some of her family friends are missing.
She still managed to get the flight, so it would seem some order of normality has returned, although her descriptions of Colombo just after what had happened was quite horrific, and that wasn't even the worst effected area.

I just want to thank everybody and anybody who has donated money/time/gifts of any kind to this appeal, It really brings home how small the earth has become when you read the countless stories from all over the world.

                • what company is that? It would be good to reward that kind of corporate behavior with more business.

                  • I'd rather not say, as you can imagine, but it's not one you can really just patronize unless you have a very specific need and are in a specific position to do so.

I will say we have 120,000+ employees worldwide, so matching contributions could be a huge thing.

Err, you just said something positive about it, and I never saw you say something negative. I wonder why you'd want to hide it

                            Hmmm, this is getting creepy...

                            • I think the positive thing on the private sector is that you really really have to contribute a LOT if you want to stand out with the PR... because so many businesses are contributing some already. So you want to actually get graet PR, you need to step up with loads of cash to top these... Anyone know how much IBM and Microsoft are going to contribute?

                              • yes. Ted Turner and Bill Gates are big donators. Bill Gates is only a big donator after Ted Turner chided him about it.

But I'm not sure if they donated for this yet.
