  • So why didn't this guy? More so, why wasn't he cleared to play by doctors is he could 'just play through it'? Even moreso, why did he need surgery for it?

Maybe he was just a wuss .

No, because James fumbled twice, which is Manning's fault obviously.

Boo hoo. They didn't score did they?

I'm happy with 3.3 in a game, but that's my limit because that's obviously a bad game. How do you figure Peyton is setting all these records, and Edge leads the league in rushing if his ypc isn't very high? Must have been a bad games caused by doctored field conditions...

I wasn't aware the game at Houston last week was the entire season? Did someone change the season on us for one game and no one told me?

Against Jacksonville our offense was rusty.

Twice? Against Jacksonville, Indy has scored 24 and 24 points this season.

    Here you go

A few Colts said it was wet and Mason (a TITAN) said the field was crappy earlier in the year. That points to bad groundswork and not some conspiracy to waterlog the field to slow down the Colts. Or else why would a Titan say the field was horrible early in the year?

And the only thing I heard about it was some whining by the Colts and from no other source.

    • DAL @ PHI 1pm Sunday forecast: snow

Anyone know if there is snow forecast for any of the other games this weekend? I love watching a football game played in the snow.

Or maybe he had a legitimate reason to not be playing if it needed surgery... they have a tendancy to take time to heal, do surgically repaired limbs. Also it's generally a good idea to not play when you have a concussion...

You can't score if you don't have the ball.

I wasn't aware the game at Houston last week was the entire season? Did someone change the season on us for one game and no one told me?
That's my point if you read carefully enough The fact that it is not kind of moots your own point that teams have finally figured out how to stop Manning and co.

Twice? Against Jacksonville, Indy has scored 24 and 24 points this season.
No, the Jaguars have good defense. False starts, blown assignments and bad offense cost us the second game. Look it up: To begin seasons and after bye weeks, the Colts are historically bad.

Well, isn't it obvious the Texans are watering down the field. They probably take it from MLB where they water down the square if a team is good at stealing bases, and quite frankly I don't think the NFL needs to take lessons from MLB when it comes to sportsmanship.

What I want to know is where did the water come from, and I know you're not stupid enough to think it came from anywhere else but the ground staff

Or suck it up and wait until after the season to have surgery like many others have done in the past. Elway, for instance, basically had no bicep attached to his elbow, but waited until after the year for surgery. It was a sprained foot! Not a broken limb!

You can't score if you don't have the ball.

Then you don't win. There were plenty of oppertunities to score and make up for the turnovers. Good teams will do so.

The point is to go after the passing game to have more defensive sucess against the Colts. Like the Jags did, like the Texans did this time.

Though your strawmen are cute .

And they also decided not to focus on the running game.

When others say the ground was horrible in earlier games, it's probably because the groundkeeping crew was screwing with every team, right? Even though it would hurt their own offense as well? And if you actually believe they did it to slow down the Indy offense, then you concede that they didn't give a damn about the running game.

And what proof do you have that it wasn't raining in Houston last week? It's been raining there all this week! In fact the forcast for tomorrow is rain! And humidity in Houston is routinely over 50% for this time of year.

              From a Houston city guide:

bradmans.com is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, bradmans.com has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

Frequent rain and humidity are made more unpleasant by tortuous heat - above 20 from April through Oct. The temperature often drops to 10 in Dec, Jan, and Feb, be prepared for sudden thunderstorms.

Yes, and you can't run on a foot which cannot hold the force of your body's weight. Wasn't Elway's stuffed arm his non-throwing one? If he was fine to play he would have played. As it stands, doctors didn't clear him so he couldn't play, even if he wanted to. Doctors are slightly more worried about rushing people back if they're not integral.

Turnovers win championships. Not defense or offense. The last two SB champions led the league in turnover differential.

Which teams don't like to do because of James. Houston stuck to their gameplan, but when you get behind by 14 points, you have a tendancy to switch your plan, because of the immense pressure on your job as a coach. If you stick with a bad plan and lose, you have a tendancy to get flamed in the media, so you switch.

The Jags never went after the passing game. They just benifitted from our 11 false starts and 3 holding penalties.

It doesn't hurt your team if you're not a finesse passing team and a ground-it-out team.

It's like in baseball, if you have a couple of sluggers who can get you a few home runs a game, while the other team is good at stealing bases (and is a big threat to do so), teams water down the square to slow them down. That's no big secret.

Retractable roof. There's a reason for that you know, generally the whole rain thing . If they didn't close it while it was raining, on a surface not designed to be rained upon, then they neglected their responsibilities as a host to provide a safe, reliable field.

Nope it was Elways THROWING arm! This was a sprained foot.. come on! People play with sprained parts all the time.

Of course they did. The old 'we killed ourselves' they didn't do it to us. Why don't you give the other team some credit for once .

And when a thunderstorm comes by, how quickly do you think a retractable roof can close? Do you think it is like your sunroof? Please!

And what proof is there of a thunderstorm? None. If there is forecast of rain, if the groundstaff care for player safety they'll close it.

They deserve credit for taking advantage of our errors. But you're the one overhyping it by saying they shut down our offense by only allowing 24 points. We still won 2/3 games where we "only" scored 23, and don't the good teams find ways to win games?

Nope it was Elways THROWING arm! This was a sprained foot.. come on! People play with sprained parts all the time.
A sprained foot which the Ravens doctors obviously deemed was not in good enough shape to play on and was serious enough for surgery. Who's the better medical professional?

They also led the league in Points Allowed. Both New England and Tampa Bay were #1 in that stat.
Which are taken away by turnovers Weren't you saying points allowed was a bad stat to judge defenses just a few weeks ago anyway?

So what, turnovers aren't the responsibility of the defense anymore? Does God make them happen? A well coached defensive team will get its own turnovers. That's part of the defensive effort.

Haha... yeah, and I'm sure Elway's doctors said don't play with the torn bicep and Schilling's doctors said don't play with torn ligiment in the ankle (and they did and Schill told them to shove it).

Just saying that there are many reasons teams win the Superbowl. Using one stat which only the last two teams share is silly.

They either did purposely overwater the ground or they maltreated the ground. Both are as bad as eachother.

What turnovers? We had 0 turnovers against Houston, and I believe 1 against Jacksonville in two games. All part of the reason Indy has the best turnover differential in the league.

Because there was something on the line. What does a #3 receiver playing on a non-playoff team have to play for?

Not just the last two, throughout the last 20 years or so the best teams have always had high turnover differentials. Naturally the best in that catagory haven't all won Superbowls because playoffs will do that to you, but they've all been up there.
