Well, I find it understandable. This site is primarily for entertainment (although some interesting discussions can come out of it). If I felt permanently insulted when coming here, if I hadn't the feeling of being at home here, if I expected the place to be more and more in a way I dislike, I would also come far less often.

Well, the Commies tend not to, but the Democrats are quite harsh I think. GePap, MrFun, TEF come to mind. And pretty much every liberal does the occasional snipe against them ignorant Republican hillbillies.

But now, many Apolytoners spew pure crap about 51% of the Americans (and the cartoon we both find offensive is only the archetype of this crap - it brings nothing new). And this indirectly insults him.

There was a time where many Apolytoners insulted the French people at large, meanng they were indirectly insulting me. I was a dirty, stinky, weasely, stinky, snobbish, arrogant, snotty, backstabbing, cowardly cheese-eating surrender monkey. It grew old really quick, and I think that's the main reason why most of our (admittedly few) French OTers left the OT during this period, despite Ming's best efforts to limit this kind of behaviour.

These days, the Greeks are suffering from a nearly-unanimous barrage from the Americans everytime they show up. Maybe that explains why we don't see Paiktis, and barely see MarkG and Axi anymore...

I can understand very well that TMM is tired with the crap he sees about people like him, i.e. people who voted for Bush.

People should get a thicker skin then. Don't you see the crap I put up on here?

Except for the crap spewed by the homophobe usual suspects (IIUC, only two people attack gays altogether over here), I only see you attacked on the grounds that you are supposed to be boring. At least these "boring" insults are based on your personality, rather than on a broad generalization and demonization you don't recognize at all in.

I agree than people should get a thicker skin. After all, that's what I did during the whole French-bashing fad. But you can understand that some people simply don't like it, and prefer to go to greener pastures where the people of their entertainment forum won't insult them at each opportunity.

I don't see how they can insult me based on my personality. For some Apolytoners, their postings let their personality shine through, but on here, they are insulting me what they think my personality is -- but for one reason or another, my true personality simply does not show through my postings.

For instance, in real life, my friends appreciate my sense of humor. And apparently, I am fun to hang out with, or I would only have myself to hang out with, instead of my friends.
