    Simple is not a value.

    But here is simpler:

Liberals are fighting for true American values like boundless opportunity, fair play, and the ability to carry out your own values free of government interference-

We seek to ensure all Americans have a level playing field, where success is achieved because of talent, not privilage- where the market is a means towards a better future, not and end of the good life. Where every child can expect the basics that will allow them to reach as hgih as they can. That is what libeals seek to achieve.

Why don't you just register Republican and be done with it! Talk about a complete turn around in your agenda.

There you go, that's better. I really didn't mean "simple" in the sense of dumbed-down. I was aiming more at shorter & more concise. A distillation of the more complex overall platform.

I still dunno if it's short enough, though, for prime soundbite useage.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

OMG, you're right. Oh, wait, no you're not. The Republicans don't stand for those things, at least not anymore. If you think they do, you live in a dreamworld. Which is kinda what I've been saying.

Liberals haven't stood for any of those things, if they did, there would be a lot of current Republicans not currently registered as Republicans.

Because Republicans these days seem to be the PRO-Governmental interferance party .

Basically because Republicans have been pro-big business and have harmed or ignored small business. 70% of the new jobs in America are created by small businesses. It's these small business that grow into tomorrows big business and yet Reagan and Bush Sr cut support to the Small Business Administration and they rigged rules so that it makes it easier for big business and harder for small business.

Democrats want to be the party of the little guy. They want to help you realize your dream of owning your own home and help you start your own business. That's good for America and that's good for individuals.

Thats not a turn of agenda, lets break it down:

Liberals are fighting for true American values like boundless opportunity,

a poor family can't achieve- if you are worrying about paying for food, your kid will most liekly not get the education they deserve- the government needs to ensure the ability of people to get the basics.

                      fair play,

End corporate pork, end subsidies to business that allow McDonals to get tens of thousands of dollars for creating a job at McDonalds!

and the ability to carry out your own values free of government interference-

If two women want to marry, and there is a church willing to do it, who are we to say no?

We seek to ensure all Americans have a level playing field, where success is achieved because of talent, not privilage-

A kid born in the urban ghetto, or in a dying farm town should have the same opportunity to an education and being healthy and wel-feed as some kid born in a fancy suburb or condo in a wealthey neighborhood.

where the market is a means towards a better future, not and end of the good life.

Worship of the free market is idolatry at the feet of Mammon. True free trade is the most subjective thing in the world- in a true free market, everything and anyone would have a price.

Where every child can expect the basics that will allow them to reach as hgih as they can. That is what libeals seek to achieve.

We seek to make sure that whomever your parents were, and wherever they live, you will be able to get the chance to become a barron of industry or a famous artist- and we will also make sure that in doing so, you do not rob anyone else of that chance either.

I've only seen the Democrats wanting to be the party of the Welfare Economy. Work and Liberal just don't seem to mix.

Bush is the leader of the Republicans they do what he tells them to do. So far no one of consequence in the Republican party has stood up to Bush's massive spending or his even more massive deficits. Instead they've dog piled on with more subsidies for their "friends"; friends who just happen to give them lots of money.

If that doesn't represent Republican values then why are Republicans to scared to stand up for their values?

The myth of the "welfare queen" is absurd- no state ever gave out enough money to make welfare a worthwhile economic alternative.

                              • There is such a thing as being socially liberal and fiscally conservative, Farb.

Or does imagining such a thing hurt your brain?
