Okay, let's stop whining. Let's focus on how we can turn things around.

    1. Our democratic leaders need to get together and start grooming someone the Presidential race not now but right now!

    2. We need to stop letting the republicans focus on issues that we support that average american may not and start putting it on issues that we can show the average american we are in his corner. Most americans are not gay but what about that war or what about unemployment.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Didn't Kerry use every opportunity to highlight those things? He must have repeated the Herbert Hoover line every 5th sentence. The other 4 sentences he used to say how bad it was going over in Iraq.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Get a presidential candidate that actually has a platform with more than "Hey, I'm not republican" in it.
                  Monkey!!!

I voted democart this time around. Honest.

But it's worthless to keep fighting. We lost.

It's better to put our hope that the president can do a good job the next 4 years and not ruin this country.

                    I support G.W. Bush!

Screw that. We don't need that kind of good job. It's no good for us.

Why is it there is so much despair? Look on the bright side were the tables reversed and Kerry was elected I would have material aplenty for the next 4 years. Just look at all the plentiful *****ing and moaning left to do.

So stop with the hang dog looks and get back up on your high horses and start *****ing like the good 'poly trolls you are.

The Republicans win because they have formed a electoral coalition of the rich (by offering them tax cuts) and the poor (who's lot would be improved by voting democrat but are distracted by MORAL/VALUE issues)

The Democrats are not going to win over the rich and so you have to concentrate on breaking the Republicans trump card of values.

The way I see it, is that the democrats have three ways of doing this

                            APPEAL TO THOSE VALUES
Say your going to ban abortion, provide free access to guns, oppose gay marriage.
This, obviously, isnt feasable for moral (democrats believe the opposite of these) and electoral (lose the women/gays/liberals) reasons.

                            CHANGE THOSE VALUES
                            Through presuasion/argument

PRESENT THOSE WHO VOTE ON REPUBLICAN VALUES WITH SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT TO VOTE ON
These could be policies (Work out what is more important to a gun owner than the right to own a gun and offer them that) of some other values that trump the values offered by the Republicans

Perhaps someone has some thought on these, wants to expand the list or want to tell me that Im way off.

These are just the things I thought up last night
