so, don't have your hopes to heigh on those areas.

Why would Ohio get to Kerry? so far Bush is leading by 4%
For what reason would it go to Kerry anyway?
You're forgetting the huge number of early voters in these counties.

    • I welcome our new Asiatic overlords.

Kerry is about to get a 60+ EV boost when CA and OR closes in about 10 minutes.

Of course, the fact is it doesn't behoove the networks to announce states too early - better to let the drama drag out as to increase ratings.

        • Pretty clear that Bush is going to win Florida

          Compare the presidential vote

          To the US Senate race

The latter is what everybody expected the presidential race to look like.

            • Right now in Florida, the HEAVY Democrat areas have yet to be counted. It could make it veeeeery close.
In Florida, there are now about 600k votes not counted, Bush has a lead of ~275 000. Presuming that ALL of those 600k votes are in heavily democratic votes, such as Palm Beach, which went to Kerry about 60-40, Kerry will gain 400k votes and Bush 200k. 400k-200k < 275k.

The main thing Kerryites are banking on are the early votes which accounted for 1/5 of the total votes cast. They favored Kerry by a large margin, and have not been added to the totals yet.

As for Ohio, exit polls favored Kerry and from what I hear, most of the counties that favor Kerry have not reported yet.
