as with the pen stuff, we need to see the high resolution stuff from fox. The low res images of Kerry looked like he was pulling out something white and square, and this does appear to be some box with a wire going up towards his ear.

Surely an ear-piece would show up in the footage? The thing on his back looks like a vibrator.

Give it up- stupid spin. I have not heard of any president wearing a bulletproof vest at a political event - can you come up with a single instance? A single other photograph? ANYTHING?

Cavity searches on live TV. That'd boost ratings.

It may well be body armor, but when I watched the deabte, I had the impression that someone was feeding Bush answers from the way he acted.

It was probably a bullet proof vest. The Secret Service probably requires the president to wear one at public events just in case someone tries something.
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

If indeed it is a kevlar vest in the picture then it was not publicised. From whence come your confidence that any previous instance of wearing a kevlar vest would have been made public?

A vest goes fully around. As for the notion that the Secret Service makes it madatory-bull****- look at the president going throught crows without a suit on- it would be obvious he was wearing such a thing, but there is no evidence, EVER. If he doesn;t wear one when walking in a crowd, he will be wearing one while in a canned event like a speech? And of course any such item would be on the press- no way that could be hidden.

Please you guys make it worst by stupidly claimign its a vest- just say its a damned wrinkle, or an effect of the light, but to claim a bullet proof vest? Bull****.

My immediate thought was it was a wire for a mike. Did he have one of those tiny mikes attached to his suit?
