    Hardy har har har.

I don't think anyone here is saying Edwards did horribly (although we have yet to hear from Gian), but he could have--should have--done better.

"Heartbeat away"... that's a scary thought, considering Cheney's cardiovascular health. Dennis Hastert in the Oval Office is not a good idea.

Cheney wasn't too bad, but he really didn't have a lot to say except "I think this, I claim that."
We'll reconstruct Iraq exactly like Bush will, but faster!

Man . . . . . are you and Ramo talking about the same VP debate??

No way, guys. I think Edwards clearly won. Cheney was painful to watch.

Because we are going to increase taxes!

And we are going to double spending on some programs!

              Let's see . . . . . .

Edwards failed to control his reactions too many times during the debate, he interrupted Cheney once, and Edwards broke a rule about not talking about his "boss" a couple of times with one question.

Oh well, I won't argue with you, except to ask what exactly did you expect from Edwards? Cheney's one cool customer.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. It's interesting how you're criticizing his performance. I odn't think that he'll get some sort of "angry man" reputation, so none of his aggressiveness is really damaging. Looking like Kerry's lapdog, maybe, though.

Yeah, but people like that. Edwards needed to play the role of attack dog in this debate and he did.

No -- breaking the rules of the debate does not make a good impression.

There were other, more subtle ways Edwards could have asserted himself stronger.

When you look at the difference in experience here then Edwards performance was pretty good. Cheney is such a seasoned politician that he should have won...and he did.

It gave Edwards presence, and was a striking contrast to Cheney who even declined to answer a bunch of questions or gave one word answers.
