BTW, I'd love to see you try to call CBS/NYT and ABC/WaPo biased towards the GOP...
I have no idea how they weight things. But we're getting polls all over the place. For example a FOX poll has Bush only two points ahead and I'd love to see you try to call FOX biased against the GOP
Bush is definately ahead but the Gallup poll (the one that shows him the most ahead IIRC) has screwy methodology that inflates his lead.

I think the results in a lot of places are going to surprise a lot of people, (not sure how exactly) since this is such a heated election we'll get turnout that is different from the one that the pollsters are normalizing for.

I'm not accusing anyone of bias (in this matter, at least)...
I'm not either, just saying the Gallup methodology is screwy.

    • That, or smart methodology based on years of experience that is getting them a realistic result (as evidenced by similar results from CBS and ABC).

Actually, Harris, Pew, Zogby, ARG, CSM, Fox, etc. all show that Gallup's methodology is crap.

It's only a clear cut case of "bias" to you because your boy is on the wrong side of their methodology...

Keep your pathetic delusions. That won't change the fact that Shrub'll lose this November.

I suppose he might have 14 points to make up to totally pwn Shrub, but Kerry only needs to beat him.

So you think its likely that 40% of those who turn out will be Republicans and 33% Democrats?

Hell if I know; this is a pretty strange election and I'm not an expert on polling. I guess I'll just have to trust the expert judgement of the folks at Gallup, CBS and ABC. It would be moronic of me to criticize their methodology when I have no idea what I'm talking about...

                      • Looking over Gallup's website, I have noticed that their polls to this date, and until recently they did show the same dead heat everyone else did. While I don't believe the lead is as big as Gallup says it is, that the poll is registering much better numbers for Bush then it was before is a good sign for Bush.

Doing an agathon: Did you know Hitler was a good man and didn't kill anybody! But he didn't! We should of left him in power because it wasn't our business if he was murdering twenty million people!
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

There's quite a few Democrats voting for Bush.........

This election in more of a contest between Liberals and Conservatives as opposed to Democrats and Republicans. I believe there are more conservative Democrats than liberal Republicans.
