They realized that the 'national championship' was just a totally subjective measure and it was decided by the various polls that were around.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

And how do you change the qualifying rules in the middle of a BCS contract?
Don't laugh, remember when OU was favored by 14 last year over Kansas State?
Colorado: 7-4, unranked, no Heisman candidate.
I think there's a bit of a difference there.
And, after all, West Virginia was ranked 10th in the AP Preseason poll.
Sorry, I confused that with the first losing season Nebraska has had in however many years. However, its actually 43 years since the last losing year.CGN | a bunch of incoherent nonsense

Schaffer is back at practice for UT. He will likely get significant playing time against Auburn. Still, I think Auburn just brings to much for the Vols to handle.
Still hoping that the Vols will bring their best game of the season and that Auburn will bring their worst. If Auburn would finish #3 in the BCS then I see no reason not to spoil their season and take a taste of sugar for The Big Orange Nation!"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. I think it's a little early to be making that determination. Nebraska. You know you're going to get playing time right away at Nebraska, while you'll have to fight tooth and nail for PT at Oklahoma.
Nebraska's also been expanding into new territory with this year's recruiting class. There are more kids from Cali than we've had in a long time...KH FOR OWNER!

Kansas State: 10-3, ranked #13 by the AP, screwed Heisman candidate (Darren Sproles).
Colorado: 7-4, unranked, no Heisman candidate.
I think there's a bit of a difference there.
Well if you don't like that example, how about the 1996 Big XII Championship when an unranked Texas beat #3 Nebraska?
It's a game where upsets are not rare.
And OU isn't as impressive at this point as they were last year. Their D especially.
Only to justify the conference still getting an automatic bid. It was artificially high, everyone knew it, and they've gone on to prove it in spades.
Yeah, it was a conspiracy by the AP. Hehe... Actually in the preseason, Athlon's Rankings had WV at 5th. Most ranking had the Mountaineers in the Top 20 and just about everyone had them ranked above Cal. They may have been badly incorrect (which they also were on Kansas State, mind), but there was a feeling that West Virginia was one of the better teams in the country and would get that BCS spot.
Will you finally admit that Bill Callahan sucks as a football head coach?
No. Putting a West Coast offense in a school with a personnel suiting an option team is just going to be a painful transition. He'll be a decent head coach, but somewhere Frank Solich is smiling since Callahan's Nebraska will not get to levels Nebraska is used to.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The BCS has me rooting for U$C to win. How messed up is that? Replace the BCS with a play off now!“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

Why would Frank Solich be smiling? He lost his job because Nebraska dropped to levels we aren't used to on his watch...
Hmm... let's see... he won 9 games last year... and this year, the team has a losing season for the first time in 41 years. I'd be smiling too in that situation.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I guess you enjoy unemployment more than most.
Oh, re: Nebraska, guess who now has the nation's longest-running bowl streak and non-losing season streak?
No need to guess; it's Michigan. Kudos.KH FOR OWNER!
