  • Wonder how our west coast apolytoners feel??

That finally they get to stick it to the East Coast bias?

How does their schedule match up with Auburn? (USC & Oklahoma)

It depends on how you measure it, but in most Strength of Schedule rankings, Oklahoma is above both USC and Auburn. And in the computer polls of the BCS, Oklahoma is their #1.

Yeah, but Oklahoma's Strength of Schedule took a big hit yesterday when they played one of those wimply IAA bottom feeder teams.

I just hope they can finish the season unbeaten, they still have one game left.

      • I wonder why teams play those crappy 1-AA teams when they can just play some crappy 1-A teams, which may be just as bad, and not take as much of a hit.

        • It was a joke, Imran.

OK played Nebraska yesterday, not a 1-AA team.

          However, NE covered!

(the spread was OK by 30, they only won by 27).

Did you see how they covered? 47 yard run by the fullback (his first carry of the season) followed by a last second field goal to avoid the shutout!!!

                      • With apologies to JohnT... that felt good. Damn good. It made the painful drive back home from Auburn today a little bit more bearable.

Right now, though I didn't get to see much non-SEC ball yesterday, my top 10 would look like this:

                        1. Auburn
                        2. USC
                        3. Oklahoma
                        4. Utah
                        5. Michigan
                        6. Cal
                        7. Texas
                        8. Florida State
                        9. Georgia
                        10. Wisconsin

The first four are obviously pretty cut and dried, and pretty much any order of them could have a valid argument made for it. Cal is good, but I just can't shake the thought that their biggest win is their one loss. Thus, I'm not completely sold on them. Of the three one-loss teams, Texas, Cal and Michigan, I think the Wolverines are the most complete team and playing the best ball.

This is a fun season, regardless of how the picture shakes out.

                        • I want all the unbeatens to remain so until the end of the season. I want as much pressure to scrap the current BCS system as possible.

                          • As to give the NCAA a chance to think of an even worse "solution"?

I don't see much talk about the Ohio State situation. If they are as guilty as Mo Clarrett and friends say, what should be their punishment? Removal of the National Championship and forfeiting their entire 2001(?) schedule? The Death Penalty? ( )

And who regrets having Clarrett on that team more: The coach or the AD?

                            • There are former players who weren't even their when Clarett was there who confirm his allegations. I believe Ohio State is guilty. However, the death penalty should be reserved for serious repeat offenders. Take away their National Championship and a bunch of scholarships for the next few years.

but right before that you say

Given that they blatantly (allegedly) violated the rules for a number of years, doesn't that call for the DP?
