Strange isn’t it – Geecs is a three times Lions coach and won series in Australia and South African – and only got an empire medal for it. He has always honoured his contracts – and avoided publically criticising his employers and opponents. His is by far I would say the more worthy Knight.

As I said, I was conveniently out of the room when that replay happened. I also happen to have no recollection of even having watched it at the time.

I still have nightmares about Lomu-Underwood. If Lomu had ever matched his form against us in other fixtures he would be remembered as an all time great – but he never quite made that status.

He had blinders against everyone except, perhaps, the Boks. I don't think he played them too often, apart from that World Cup. He carved us up most times he played against us when he was healthy. I think his illness stopped him achieving the status. His last couple of seasons, which were below par for him, were obviously marred by it. 6' 5", 18 stone, and could run the 100 in close to even time. Terrifying!

The Catalans stuttered their Rugby all along the first half against limited but valliant Scottish players largely dominated in every sector of the game. The first half was thus an accumulation of knock-ons, fumbles and other fools.

The second half saw the Perpignanais in a different shape, though the game was marred with too many fools, they were more enterprising and scored a first and beautiful try thanks to Manuel Edmonds who delivered a fine kick he recovered himself in the scottish try zone. The rest of the game is purely anecdoctic, the question was not about a victory or not of the USAP but about the margin of the said victory.

The main teaching of the game is that the Catalans have not solved their main problem which is discipline, I am sure it will cost them some victories especially in the H-Cup.

Gareth Thomas is a very talented player whether he plays at the wing, at the center or as a full back. He is able to adapt himself very easily and has a great offensive skill.

As far as I know, having heard Jean-Baptiste Ellissalde at the radio, the weather was awful, with a very strong wind and the French forwards dominated their opponents. Needless to say that the Stade Toulousain certainly had to fight against a 16th player... a brittish referee.

The game is scheduled at 1:30 pm on cable TV, I shall see it and should have a better idea about the whole affair.

What worries me is that a Haematoma in the arm should not be preventing a 25 year old playing. Something else is going on methinks.

That's indeed no reason not to play. I started playing yesterday evening with 2 haematoms, one in the arm and one in the thigh, plus a few stud marks on the forehead form Tuesday training session. So there must be somehting else.
(By the way, we won, 3 tries to one).
I am getting better at throwing the ball in a lineout, particularly when there's a good second jumper. First jumper still causes me problems, but we did score a try 'en force' after a short lineout. My coach expects me to spend 10 minutes throwing the ball at the bars at the start of each training session when the other players are actually having fun before the coach comes and tells us to do silly things. I'll be on vacation for 1 week and a half, so when I next see him in 3 weeks, there's a possibility that he will have forgotten about it...

Nothing to do with us! They obviously changed their name because their original name was unpronounceable!

She's developped some kind of 'oh well that again' reaction and got used to it. My small bruises are much more useful to stop my daughter's whining because her fingerhurts her and "look here I've got a bruise". She then shows me something which can hardly be called a scratch and says it hurts. I then show her my thigh with a nice purple and yellow circle 5cm wide with a nice stud mark scar in the middle and I can tell her to stop whining because I don't. She then stops whining at me, sulks, and goes see her mother instead.

Sorry to be picky but the closest a non-Welsh speaker can get is Clan-ethli. Although it’s not quite a ‘C’ sound to start – it ‘rolls’ more than that.

Llanelli Scarlets are the Welsh province that kept the name of the main club that formed it. Scarlets was their nickname for years – as they became a Province it became official. They have been the strongest Welsh challengers in the European cup for years – but always suffering heartbreak (including a semi-final defeat to Tigers in 2002). They are now waning – their fly half nicked off to France in the summer and their skipper Scott Quinell is years past his best.

On the face of it Toulouse did really well – Scarlets are traditionally very hard to beat at Rodney Parade. However this season Toulouse are the fourth side to beat them there.

Their coach by the way is on the Lions coaching roster – and is the worst (least gracious) loser I have ever encountered in the UK in the Professional era.

Needless to say that the Stade Toulousain certainly had to fight against a 16th player... a brittish referee.

Sorry but if we can cope with a useless Scot lump you can cope with Chris White.

Rained throughout. Total mismatch. Despite a strangely large number of North Aucklanders and actual Aucklanders on their team sheet. Tigers followed a bizarre game plan that kept them chip and box kicking (in my day when it was raining heavily you stuck the pill up the packs shirts). We never really got out of first gear so it was no real preparation for Biarritz Olympique (who were beaten by Day-Glo’s mob). Still five tries means a bonus point win for us.

The best news is probably that Ellis and Moody each got a brace of tries. Add that to Cohen scoring a match winning try for Saints in their game and maybe there is a glimmer of hope for England…

Garreth Thomas has been tested by the coaches at this places and proved willing and able every time I saw him.

About the Biarritz Olympique, I can only say that this is one of the worst games I have ever seen. Bad Wasps beating a worst Basque team unable to handle the ball. A very poor game with uninspired and clumsy French players accumulating stupid fools. This is one those games you have to forget very quickly, the only winners are those that have taken a nap while their TV was on.
