Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I saw President Bush quoted yesterday on bbc.co.uk as saying that Kerry was "the more heroic" for having served in Vietnam, and that he thinks the attacks on Kerry's service record are wrong.

I looked up Kerry on Google News, and the only press that seem to be still going with SWVFT are the foaming-at-the-mouth right wing nutters.

Everyone else gave it up when it turned out there was no proof. Even Bush is having to distance himself from it now.

Yeah. I long for the days under Clinton when we all thought we were rich (before the bubble burst). Or when the Democrat Grey Davis screwed up the California economy so much that even his fellow Democrats threw him out of office. Delusions can be fun. Too bad that the delusions of John Kerry and his Nueremburg defense for committing war crimes because "he was under orders" doesn't wash with people who have stuidied history. I can just see him now when the Abu Grave criminals are tried. "The fact that they were under orders is no excuse". Kerry needs to get a job forging documents. I think he would be pretty good at it considering the past 30 years.

Bad answer. Kerry doesn't want to deal with the real issues because he wants to remain on the fence, straddling every issue to appeal to as many voters as possible. Actually taking a stance on the issues would hurt him, so he attempted to avoid doing so by riding his Vietnam experience to victory. That's my take, at least.
