I mean, I am sure the repugs will have NO celebrities at their convention!!!

Comparing ads from one 527 to another, that is sensible. Comparing them to F9/11? Thats just whinning that the right's sad attampts at documentaries and so forth have failed to gain any public acknowledgement.

    Can't compare the two...

    Now that's funny...

You answered your own question, Washington. Unless you think he was a particularly good president?

But a better answer would probobly be post Civil War. And it started more with officers, but as our society changed the common soldier became the focus. I would say WWI gave us what we have now.

And if you were right GePap, why would anyone, including Kerry, give a damn about military records. It seems your the minority opinion.
Well, I don't care about military records for one. And if that makes me the minority, well good.

Thankfully I don't like you either, so we are even

The title of this thread makes me think of Ghostbusters.

          GORTHAR THE DESTROYER!
You will perish in flames! [/Keymaster]

          ...

GePap - I figure we started really revering vets once we fielded large, citizen armies. The common man as hero thing. But maybe that was just part of it, and the backlash to the backlash over Vietnam was the other part.

Wow!! Even I don't go so far as to condemn Kerry for the Korean war. But feel free to do so if it makes you feel better.

And you know what? It isn;t you that keeps you from killing lost of Americans- its the make-up of our system that prevents that- a system, as I said, that never placed the military very high (after all, what do you think is the point of armed militias but to counterbalance the military?)

You done thread jacking now? Grown ups here have a topic to discuss.
What topic? A circlejerk around a bunch of unsubstantiated allegations, or feeling empathy for ex-POW's? wow, how important.

Aparently important enough for you to devote your time, unfortunetly.

Actually, it strikes me as pretty accurate. A rant regarding the Democrats' tactics would be similarly damning, just different.

Let me correct you. The current candidate has a track record of being opposed to American policy during a time war and has actually sought to undermine our troops in combat. Time and again he has done this, including in the current war in Iraq.
