I'm suprised the US kept it so close.

      I expected a 10 point loss.

I used to think you were kind of slow, but I see that you are just stubborn. But we are making you an American yet. Welcome to the team!

The US Mens Basketball team sucks. How did David Stern get to choose who got invitations? They chose the most marketable names who said they were willing to go. They didn't choose a team. The NBA is collapsing under the weight of their own indictments. Attendance is still down from that in the Jordan glory years. I used to like watching the NBA, but 'm liking it less and less each year. Pretty soon, I'll be trying to find Italian league games on channel 277.

Seriously tho, Team USA has immensely improved. And I still think they're one of the favorites, together with us and Spain. Saras might not always shoot as well as he did last Saturday.

I'm not so sure about 'one of the favorites' but they certainly have improved and seem to be getting the hang of the international-style play. You see the same kind of awkwardness with NHL players in the olympics. They sometimes get caught defensively by the larger size of the rinks and can look pretty foolish.

True-- but then they compensate and go on to win the World championships

Oh and I believe that today there is a matchup of two teams where they know with absolute certainty that the WINNER gets to play the Americans and the LOSER gets Peurto Rico.

I don't know about anyone else but I think I would rather avoid the Americans, despite their loss to Peuro Rico.
