Well backed-up, yes, but I question the relevance.
People thought they 'knew' the writer, through a combination of the writer's skill, and their inability to form a judgement, given that nearly all of the people 'convinced' by Mr. Wright hadn't served in the armed forces, or specifically the Rangers.
They lacked a common experience through which to form a valid judgement.
You can't assume that a writer has been a spy, or a gangster, or a rapist, simply by bald prose on page.
You may as well ask how many Jacobean playwrights were murderers or torturers, given the plethora of grisly deaths in their works.
'Would you really prefer I operate on the default assumption that everyone here is lying? ' kw
No. I'd prefer you wait until you're actually in a position to judge anything about what I know or my experiences.
If you aren't familiar with quotations from the Founding Fathers, or the Bible, how on earth can you tell whether
my info is accurate or relevant if the subject concerns the history of the constitutional separation of Church and State in the United States?
Or more to the point, how much of it I know in depth?
So your knowledge of accountancy and the energy industry in California amounts to what, Kuciwalker?
Independent of what you've read here.

EDIT: though I find it ironic that on one hand molly criticizes me for essentially "not keeping my mouth shut" about things that I guess are too "old" for me, and then criticizes me for not questioning his authority. And he also seems to be implying that he's a liar and a fraud.

Anyway, molly, IIRC other polytubbies have met MtG (and I know for sure Ming), so when multiple people here say the same thing I'm more inclined to believe what they're saying rather than think it's some grand conspiracy.

An interesting theory, but not my intent.
I was pondering who to choose- the journalist who made up stories in the New Yoirk Times (?), the woman who claims to have been in Jordan when an honour killing took place (and wrote a book in internet cafes about it) or Mr Wright, with whom I once entered into an argument on the Wildstorm message boards.
I picked Wright.

Any implication that I should doubt the veracity of posters' claims of profession/experience inevitably sheds doubt on his...
It's actually more to do with how you are in a position to judge anything about their fields of expertise, based on what you know about the California energy industry or accountancy.
Since I've already asked you, and you declined to tell me what you knew about either subject, independent of what you had read here, I'll take silence as indicating not much, shall I?
'so when multiple people here say the same thing I'm more inclined to believe what they're saying ' kw
Oh hold on, so personal hands-on experience is only crucial as far as I'm concerned. Righty-ho!

See, that's his point exactly (or maybe it isn't, but it's mine). You know a lot of ****. You express it well, and then you insist on acting like a forum version of a play ground bully when singling out individuals you don't like.
To be honest, it makes me think you are a very intelligent person who has the wisdom of the average can of soup.

Bingo... though I have nothing against molly, I do think his individual attacks weaken his argument or at least their persuasiveness.
