So what we know is that the very rich are certainly much richer than the rest of us, and that they holda huge percentage of the wealth-without an estate tax it would even be more lobsided today than it is in this country.
No, they just provide some extra employment for trust and estate lawyers and find ways to make tax-free transfers.

Damn it. You have my wife reading this bunk **** asking me if I'm really a flip flopper.

I have been trying to tell you what I meant by those comments but you don't want to hear it. Nor do you want to give me the links or even provide the context.

The rich exploit the poor. That means that some of their income doesn't come from their work. That's not the same thing as saying that rich people are inferior to poor people in anyway.

See? So wealth goes to the lawyers, who then spend it, rather than into the trust funds of weak-headed bluebloods.

Hence, we fight the concetration of wealth. Nice to see you agree

He's a Kerry Republican. Translation: flip flopper, and his flip flopping is dependent on his financial status.

I gave the context, Kid. The quotes included the posts you were replying to. If you want wider context than that, I guess you want to read the entire thread. I told you what thread they came from, too. The link to the thread is also available, courtesy of JohnT.

                    ...

Second, you now say that not all rich people are lazy exploiters, and that they're not inferior (which I didn't accuse you of saying). Fine, you've moderated your position from before, and I salute you for that. Good.

It is my understanding that MtG is the conservative Democrat type.

Actually, I think it's more likely that he's supportive of the Dems now because of the insanity/stupidity/etc of Dubya than because of his current financial status.

                          The truth?

Though of course that moniker is much closer to reality than "death tax". But of course, the Tax does have a name, and it's:

                          ESTATE TAX

While I would NEVER oppose more money for lawyers , I don't think it will garner much general support as a wealth redistribution method.

This is the problem. The information goes in, but is filtered through your bias lens and comes out the way you want it to. You need to check your bias. Then you can understand what I'm saying.

to the Estate Tax... although since I'm still not 100% clear on how it works (where is the cutoff again?), I can't say for sure whether or not I approve of the current implementation.
