I asserted nothing
And I repeat... bull****. You can hide behind "it was a hypothetical all you want", but if some Republican in 1998 said imagine a hypo about President Clinton raping Juanita Brodrick and then let's look at Paula Jones, you'd be all over them for not simply asserting a hypothetical, but actually asserting something.
Really, how much longer do you plan to stick to this lie? Oh yes, wait, it was a hypothetical, and you believe none of it!“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I still don't see the basis for Boris asserting anything. It's quite silly for him to backtrack and claim it was a hypothetical question now.I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

Oh, shut up.
Yeah, yeah...I can see you're going to repeat this line instead of actually, you know, considering things. Nothing I can do to stop you on that. It at least protects you from having to consider uncomfortable scenarios.
Let's "consider" your two hypotheticals:
Number one - Let's say that the records were there in the Pentagon and they showed, beyond shadow of a doubt, that Bush had indeed not showed up for duty and was thus gulity of being AWOL in 1972. Does anybody here think that, were that the case, the records would have really survived to be investigated by newspaper reporters?
Number two is a continuation (and relative to my first question). Let's say the records were indeed deliberately destroyed by someone to hide what was in them about Bush from the public. Who would have the clout to make such a thing happen?
1. The records were not at the Pentagon. As I showed in my previous post, since 1995 the records are stored by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (stated in the article) at the old Gentile Air Force Base in Kettering, OH. Prior to that, I don't know, but we are at least aware of the fact that the records were not, repeat NOT stored at the Pentagon at the time of the records "inadvertant destruction", which your hypothetical assumes. So, get the image out of your head of some 5-star General walking down the hall to the file room at the Pentagon and yanking a few records - it didn't, couldn't happen that way.
2. The "clout to make such a thing happen" would reside in a larger number of people than you assume. They include: the President (Clinton), The Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staffs and his subordinates, the head of the Air Force and his subordinates, the head of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (and their subordinates), Joan Causey the head of the DFAS branch in Kettering OH (since 2003), her predecessors (and their subordinates), the clerks in charge of Files and Records, even the guy who keeps the inventory.
Now, assuming that there was an order, given by somebody (it doesn't really matter whom), to have these records destroyed in 1996-97, it would have to go through at least 3 to 5 levels of management in order to be carried out. Bush 1 calls his buddies at the CIA (1) to ask for the records to be destroyed. They research it and find that they are kept in Kettering, OH, necessitating a call to the person able to give orders (2) to Ms. Causey's predecessors, who then call Ms. Causey's predecessors (3), who themselves call up the file clerk (4) to demand that the destruction of the 1972 records for whatever Air Force base in Alabama that Bush served under.
That's a minimum of 4 people my hypothetical requres to bring the order to completion, four people who have had 7+ years to brag, complain, or errantly let the cat out of the bag.
Finally, if you are truly interested in tracking this down for yourself Boris (rather than rely on positing hypothetical situations based upon incorrect assumptions), why not contact them yourself?
