I wouldn't care if Kerry picked the Son of Sam,
Birds of a feather I'd say.
I ain't voting for Bush.
So shall we put that down as a vote for John 'I support the Vietnam Vets, just look at my entourage of some V V who are with me at all times just in case no one notices the medals I won (then threw over the wall after accusing the same V V of war crimes)' Kerry ?
Edwards got the job only because Kerry was told 'no' by everyone else in the world
As long as one of those 'no's was Bob Graham, then I guess it is ok. I mean Kerry would get Florida and probably the election with Graham.

Naah, I don't like Kerry much (me, like a yankee liberal? )
This is a vote for John "I ain't George W. Bush" Kerry.

I don't think Kerry uses the work "ain't" in common parlance, MtG .

In a close election, yes it was. It killed him in the polls. It turned what may have been a clear win inro probably a loss.
Again, you're just ignoring the fact that Bush had as much to prove in those debates as Gore did, and the fact that Bush held himself up to (low) expectations was an enormous help for him in the polls. Why else were editorials ablaze with remarks about how Bush didn't perform as disasterously as everyone expected?
Because it was 'civil' he wasn't ripped apart! That's funny! His ideas were pulled apart and destroyed, by yes in civil discourse, but still ripped apart.
I'll wait for some evidence of this from you, because this simply didn't happen in the debates I saw. Edwards was, by and large, in agreement with several of the other candidates on the issues. Where was he "ripped apart" with any specialness that didn't hit any of the candidates? None of the other Dems laid into Edwards as you're claiming, Imran.
That's like saying you don't know what Roe v. Wade is because you weren't in politics then! DoMA is a HUGE issue and not knowing it displays how utterly out of touch and ignorant he was.
You're comparing DoMA to Roe v. Wade? Now you're just being silly, and that's coming from me, who certainly has a vested interest in the former. DoMA hasn't had nearly the social impact that Roe v. Wade had, almost immediately.
The DoMA was a political point-scoring stunt that, at the time it was passed and to this day, has had very little real effect on the country. It's never even had a chance to come up for a court challenge as of yet. So I think Edwards can be forgiven for not knowing some of the details of it.
In '92, Gore really knocked him silly. Maybe because it was 'civil' you didn't notice.
Another spurious claim. Gore did no such thing, and the debate was hardly "civil." The consensus after the debate was neither had scored a victory, but both and looked like attack dogs.

(from Rush Limbaugh website)
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"
G'Kar - from Babylon 5 episode "Z'ha'dum"
you're just ignoring the fact that Bush had as much to prove in those debates as Gore did
So the mere fact that he was competant means that that is why he 'won' the debate?
Gore doesn't sigh and it doesn't matter. The headlines the next day say that Bush was a disaster.
Where was he "ripped apart" with any specialness that didn't hit any of the candidates?
The 'Two Americas' thing was pilloried. Kerry killed Edwards (ironically enough) on Edwards' opposition to NAFTA.
You're comparing DoMA to Roe v. Wade?
For a Democrat Senator to not know what the DoMA is akin to an ordinary person not knowing Roe v. Wade.
Gore did no such thing
Of course he did. He was in control of the policy while Quayle was reduced to cracks like "You pulled a Clinton on me". He was totally outclassed.

Edwards was probably about the only real choice he had beyond Richardson. Although former Senator Sam Nunn would have been a pretty good choice.
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh
