      it ain't gonna happen

That's what you say now. The right-wing conspiracy grabbed us all
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

And yet you say that Newdow should have just kept his trap shut because he's "whiny." Is there something you're not telling us here? Or have you just given up on trying to be consistent?

If you can show me how a person's rights are being violated by hearing something that he/she does not want to hear, then I will definitely take this issue more seriously.

So why don't the whiners petition their congressperson to introduce or support legislation that changes the pledge? Because they know dam well that the majority agrees with it as-is, and most of those who wouldn't say they agree with it are apathetic. "No harm, no foul."

The Left is accustomed to using the courts to accomplish things that they couldn't do in the full light of day, and this is no different. It is a relief when the courts won't play that game.

I bet a lot of liberals want to take off the religious crap of stuff, but they win't risk it after Walter Mondale's specacular performance in 1984.

Lilliputians think that the pledge should include "Under Gawd".

                  Blefuscans think that it shouldn't.

I don't think there should be a pledge at all.

It is a general characteristic of applelate courts, that they prefer to dispose of a case on the least significant grounds available.

You know given what was said even in the minority opinion, and that thy delivered the decision on Flag Day (for goshsakes), I suspect that future decisions on this won't go your way for a long time.

So if it supports your beliefs, it doesn't matter whether or not it is a violation of the Constitution?

The state has no place affirming the existence of a diety.

As for telling people to just go to another school, unless you live in a big city, that requires moving or other unreasonable expenses. People should not have to be forced to withdraw from public activities in order to have their rights not violated by the state.
