Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

      • That was a very important equalizer. Now Sweden can draw against Denmark and advance from the group, instead of the other way around, had Italy held on to their lead.

        In short,

        D'oh!

It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

Yes, but we're the only ones who haven't had a goal scored against us.

Not that it matters at all, but still.

                  • So what are the implications from now on? If Sweden and Denmark draw..Sweden go through right (assuming Italy win)? And if such happens, Italy need to win by three goals..

Otherwise if there is a winner in the Den-Swe game, Italy just need to win, by any scoreline?

Yes, Sweden goes through in that case. Whether Italy or Denmark goes through depends on the score. In case of a 0-0, Italy goes through (assuming they win against Bulgaria). In case of 2-2, 3-3 or more, Denmark goes through. In case of 1-1, Italy needs to win with either 3-0 or a two goal difference but score at least three times (3-1, 4-2, etc). If Italy wins exactly 2-0 things get really complicated and they'll look at the coefficients of previous tournaments and qualifiers and stuff, no idea who goes through then.

                      Aren't EUFA regulations fun?

                      Correct.

                      • Have any of you guys ever watched a game where you so passionately wanted a team to win? I mean, not a particular team, but any team?

Ah well, I approve of Sweden's comeback, and disregarding everything else I'd love the Italians to screw up against Bulgaria (see above post) so we won't qualify at the expense of the brødrefolk. Realizing that that's too much to hope for, all of Scandinavia will be glued to the screen on 22 June.

                          • Anyone getting pissed off at all the refs for so giving so many soft free-kicks as soon as a player falls over and starts screaming?

                            • There are no bad teams in the Euro Cup, so Italy should not expect a freebe in Bulgaria. They want revenge after two losses, even if it would take them nowhere. The only reason they lost so big against us was that they stopped playing after 2-0.

Which incidentally will be exactly 12 years after we last advanced from the semifinals, having defeated Holland on penalties.

                                Oh, the memories.
