Hey, you have to admit that you can't stop danish dynamite (a swedish invention, oh the irony!), back in '92 they didn't qualify, and still won.

However, this triumph for justice and democracy worldwide was blurred by the discomfort of losing to the Swedes during qualification for the semi-finals. As you probably recall, the vicious Thomas Brolin came close to shattering our dreams altogether, so we'll keep an eye on him this time around.

I can assure the non-Scandinavians that regardless of its official significance, Denmark vs. Sweden is to be percieved as a final in itself.

Are you keeping an eye on Brolin? OK, the danish defense seems quite slow and all, but they should be able to handle a fat man that sells vacuum-cleaners for a living and spends his spare time with Dr. Alban and Björn Borg.

If Denmarks central midfield works you're alright, if not you're toast.

I've said before there's an important pattern to be observed here. First of all, this is the 6th consecutive Euro Finals in which Denmark participates. No team has ever managed that before. Why isn't the world paying more attention to this! Hrmpff.

Anyway, Denmark wins every third Euro Finals they're in, so they might as well hand over the trophy now and save us all a lot of trouble and expenses.

                        1988: Nothing
                        1992: Champions
                        1996: Nothing
                        2000: Nothing
                        2004: Champions

See? It's so simple really, even Diego Maradona could figure it out if he was able to keep himself awake long enough.

I read in the swedish tabloid aftonbladet today that Gravesen was the key to denmark's success during euro'04. Now, the correct and obvious way to interpet that is that denmark will win the entire competition and Ebbe Sand will be top goalscorer, as long as Gravesen a doesn't play a minute.

In a way I think Denmark has more potential of going really far judging by their style of play, it they get it right they can go past anyone. Sweden are more of a safety first side, not saying that we won't get anywhere just that Denmarks style with the wingers ala Grönkjär could overwhelm most teams when they get it right.

However I have always admired defensively strong teams, and Sweden will most probably be very safe at the back spiced up with talent up front. We're not in the top seed group for nothing.

It appears from your statement that Brolin is no longer playing for Sweden's national team! This indicates that goalkeeper Ravelli, despite the fact that he's only 70 years old, has retired as well and I shall inform the Danish team of the news at once.

Winston will surely remember that legendary 'Far til fire' movie in which Lille-Per (another national icon) scores that precious goal winning the game against those malicious Swedes.

Oh, and Footie Mad - I think you're right. Considering that Gravesen (unquestionably the team's best midfield player, as Kropotkin has pointed out) is barred from participating in the first match, I do not think highly of our chances against the Italians.
