    2001 was way to boring.

      Completely different type of sci-fi.

That'd be Star Trek II: Wrath of Kahn

              Like ST:Khan?

2001 is certainly a far greater film than any ST movie, and more than SW.

Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country is by far the greatest sci-fi movie, although it would more appropriately be classified as a space opera, just as Star Wars is closer to fantasy.

Oh come on. It wasn't even the best ST movie. It was full of preachy garbage.

The best SciFi movie of all time is The Empire Strikes Back, and Blade Runner and Alien are up there.

I'm kinda partial to RoTJ... Ewoks aside, it has THE epic space battle. Never been topped.

Yeah, and Titanic would have been a great movie were it not for the Leo-Kate love story crap. But it's there, so we suffer.

Star Wars (Original Trilogy of course) is the only cool one of the three. The other two are for geeky dweebs.

                                My ranking:

                                Star Trek:

                                Undiscovered Country
                                Wrath of Khan
                                Voyage Home
                                The Motion Picture
                                Search for Spock/Final Frontier

I do not bother ranking the TNG movies. They are all equally subpar to the original crew.

                                Star Wars:

                                Empire Strikes Back
                                Return of the Jedi
                                Star Wars

I have not seen B5, but if I get the chance I most certainly will.
