Other things I don't like: turning the Vulcan Science Officer into the übersexy chick; making the vulcans absolute bastards/evil.

The two things I did like, which so far don't really outweigh the bad things: they brought back Andorians and Tellarites.

Seven of Nine was one of the greatest contributions to the Star Trek universe ever!
To us, it is the BEAST.

A few other errors with continuity, though these were not part of the canon. It was established that transporters weren't invented until a bit before Pike's time, and that Phasers weren't developed and standardized until after April became Captain of the first Enterprise. (1701, not that stupid NX-01 crap.)

Shouldn't that be :"Seven of Nine was two of the greatest contributions to the Star Trek universe ever!"
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
            Once again...

              Those aren't phasers.

in the first episode, Archer is given two "new experimental weapons" which were dubbed "phasers".

thankfully, they dropped that and went with the term "phase pistols".

For day to day use, though, they do use lasers in Pike's time.

Enterprise is an abomination, a show vigorously condemned by the CPA

yes, i remember that term in later episodes, but i clearly remember the word "phaser" used in the first episode.

You've only named a couple flaws with enterprise. that's not a reason to hate the whole series...Face it, Star Trek is now cool thanks to Enterprise and you are left wearing Picard's pajamas on Halloween.

enterprise was merely the last nail in the coffin, wiggy. you might get your jollies from a sexed-up star trek, but i remember when such soap opera in space (not space opera) was meant for other telly shows.

star trek might now be "cool" for a different demographic, but it's also coming at the cost of alienating a bunch of old school fans.

i don't like the design ethic, since the ship looks too new--taking design cues from the akira-class starships first seen in first contact, as well as being all sharp blue/black/grey-hued rather than the muted/earth tones of tos/tng/voy. while the interior decor isn't bad, it doesn't engender in me a feel of "star trek".

as a show, it has its merits; if it were completely divorced from the star trek universe, i might not mind it so much. the fact of the matter is, though, wiglaf, is that it's not, and it weakens both the show and the universe at large because of it.

it's almost as bad as the "hey, that wasn't really jean grey possessed by the phoenix force" cop-out.

besides, wiglaf, you asked for some timeline inconsistencies. i delivered. nowhere in your initial remarks do you say such inconsistencies shouldn't be a basis for judging a show.
