The problem in this whole conflict are the emotions. Many Arabs were, in addition to their general distrust or hate on America appalled by the Torture pics. Some completely nuts guys then behead an American. We already knew that there are such idiots over there, capable of doing this, so what. If now, in reaction to this beheading, someone wants to change policy from "cruel" to "exceedingly cruel" it's exactly the same thing those terrorists are doing and what the torturers did.

According to the new Woodword book, which the White House has not contradicted, the White House took 700 million dollars which were appropriated for Afganistan and spent it on Iraq instead.
