Yep. Politically, it is not considered as one. Clinton raised taxes throughout his presidency.
Did he also adjust tax brackets by larger than inflation? Does that ever happen?

    Thank you.

What's the situation like at local and state level? Any figures?

No. He should have. And yes, adjustments happen every ten years or so. Bush has done it 3 times already.

You would have to look at the NIPA tables. Only the numbers for calendar Q4 '03 have been released so far.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Do you think he won't do so anymore?

Tough to know. Tax cuts are easy to derail.

          • Cisco has plans to hire 1,000 this year. Looks like Silicon Valley is back in the black.

I'll speak from the leftist point of view: Jobs are bad. Jobs are evil. Capitalism is evil. I hate jobs. I hate Bush. I hate jobs. I hate Bush. I hate jobs. *repeat six thousand times*
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

                • Good news this.

But it still doesn't change the fact that the US's share of the world economy has shrunk by more under Bush than any president since Carter (0.6% of global GDP - the equivalent of the US 'losing' Chicago, Los Angeles or the state of Georgia).

That can't be good for US power in the long-term.

                    • Two good months are good news but we're still down 1.3 million total. Add to that the increased price of fuel that will be a drag on the economy, rising interest rates (they can't stay low forever) and I'm seeing a modest recovery instead of a return to the 90's.

                        • Oh dear, I'm just shaking in my boots.

It's not that we're losing wealth, it's that other nations (China, India, etc.) are industrializing and creating wealth.

                          It's a good thing.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
