People just don't know where to draw the line! CGI battles look incredibly cheap. I want my extras and realism back!

      I say, WHO'S WITH ME!!!???
I'd fight alongside you buddy. I think the movie looks better than most CGIU crapfests, but I totally understand your point. The battlescenec in gettysburg outdid any in the last Matrix movie.
I think thie cg crap is also leading to unemployment in hollywood. Did you hear about htta star trek 4-d ride in vegas that only used 5 actors for the whole production?

Like Boris I don't think it will be a disaster. I'll watch with low expectations and hopefully be surprised.

                Yup! Pretty girly.

I can't believe this forum is so full of Pitt-haters. I figured you guys loved his performances in stuff like Fight Club, 12 Monkeys and Se7en.

I did (especially 12 Monkeys). But that picture is hideous. Damn you.

I agree with Agathon on "Oh Brother" as well... it's my favorite film in fact!!

What I don't agree with others is that I think Pitt will be great! He's one of my favorite actors, whether it be in 'Fight Club', 'Ocean's Eleven', 'Seven Years in Tibet', 'Se7en'; he's just a lot of fun.

Btw, wonder if they'll discuss the homosexuality of Achilles and the rest of the Greeks and Trojans. Should put a damper on those ladies who are there just to see Pitt .

Hm, but most of those ancient Greeks didn't care much if they had man or woman in bed I thought ....

There's nothing much in the Illiad that alludes to homosexuality. But I've heard there is a rather homoerotic scene between Pitt and someone else.

For real homoeroticism in the ancient world, we're all waiting for Oliver Stone's Alexander movie. Then we get to see Colin Ferrell playing snuggle bunnies with Jared Leto.

I guess it isn't explicit in the Illiad, but didn't Achilles have a very, very close male friend with whom there may have been relations?

Yes Patroklos was a very good friend of Achilles. Still, the Illiad doesn't say much about homosexuality, and it's quite obvious that Achilles is mad because his slave girl is stoekn by Agamemnon, who will later give her back after precising he didn't sleep with her, which means it must have been important for Achilles. Of course, Achilles may have been bisexual. Odysseus forgot to ask him that very important question when he met him in the realm of the dead.
