There's really a simple way a pharmacist can avoid dispensing RU-486. he can either not stock it or not work at a place that does. No need for a redundent law.

If we dismiss them until they are powerful, we'll have a much harder time holding on to our rights.
          Two very good points, Che.

There are too many moderate Republicans who try to bullsh*t themselves into thinking that the Religious Right has no influence in their party.
For instance, it seems to me that many Log Cabin Republicans justify their allegiance to the Republican party by simply denying the influence of the Religious Right. Sometimes, when I'm really angry I make the hasty comparison of gay Republicans, with kapos (Jewish concentration camp guards in World War II).

Your second point I also completely agree with. How many times in human history have people dismissed what they perceive to be a loony fringe group as non-threatening, until they finally gain true power over everyone else?
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Wasn't there a thread about this awhile ago, about a pharmacist not willing to stock said pills?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

It's getting to be a disturbingly common occurance.

Those things mentioned in the article are all abortion.

So abortion is still legal, but they're trying to ban an abortifacient?

Either way to the measures. I don't think it's an anti-women thing though, since there are women and men on both sides of the debate, and not being able to get contraceptives harms men as well as women - it takes two to have a baby.

What's worse is that this probably means less funding for contraception in the third world (not that the US isn't cutting that already).

Are these people idiots? Don't they realize that the world simply cannot continue to sustain the present rate of population growth?

These people are a menace to civilization.
