Lazarus what made me become a member of the BNP are the following things.
1. They are the only nationalist party in England
2. They will reject anyone the right to asylum.
But most important of all they would put British interests first, above all else. They will maintain an independent foreign policy of our own, and not a spineless subservience to the USA, the ‘international community’, or any other country.
Look at the balance of payments. Look at how much foreign money flows through the UK.
Realise that isolation will cause financial collapse.
This policy sounds very popular - and the results would be catastrophe.
Of course, in that situation the people suffering most would be the poor - exactly the people the BNP say they want to help most.
At least THINK about it.
Some cry `Allah O Akbar` in the street. And some carry Allah in their heart.
"The CIA does nothing, says nothing, allows nothing, unless its own interests are served. They are the biggest assembly of liars and theives this country ever put under one roof and they are an abomination" Deputy COS (Intel) US Army 1981-84
Who said anything about isolationism? An independant foreign policy is not isolationism.
"When I warned them that Britain would fight on alone, whatever they did, their Generals told their Prime Minister and his divided cabinet that in three weeks, England would have her neck wrung like a chicken - Some chicken! Some neck!" --Winston Churchill, speech made to the Canadian Parliament on December 30, 1941.
That is true, but would cause economic problems, as would any economic/foreign policy motivated by non economic concerns like nationalism. THe only things a foreign policy should be interested in imo is a utilitarian economic policy and humanitarian concerns, which the BNP seem to lack.

Whaleboy- No just cut and pasted from the BNP website, my typing skills are, shall we say 'rudimentary' at best.

At least it was after they tried to portray themselves as cuddly. What made the scales fall from your eyes, then? Nick Griffin's conviction for incitement to racial hatred?
Like I said earlier in the thread, I left partly because of the leadership links to the NF, partly for my job (it does not go down well with your bosses and co-workers if they see you as some sort of rascist thug) and to spend more time with my family.

Whaleboy, I dont see how a nationalist economic policy will do any harm to the economy. On economics aswell the BNP policy can be summed up by 'British workers first' which I support.

Please tell me that this fact was not a surprise to you. The BNP was founded by an ex-NF leader and is currently led by an ex-NF leader. It's not rocket science.
Really didn't matter to me at the time, I wasn't campaigning for the Chairman I was campaigning for the party.

It doesn't quite work like that, any short term measures used to improve Britons at the expense of others will have repurcussions since global economics are so fluid.

This goes for all political parties, not just the BNP but the manifesto is merely a veneer to the men in charge and their real nature, unless they have a coherent philosophy behind them which is pretty much a preserve of the left.
