by the way, does anyone from chemistry remember why water isn't called DiHydrogen Monoxide? what was that rule again?
I am an undergraduate chemistry student, and I don't remember it. Hydrogen Oxide is the correct name, IIRC, due to oxidation levels.
Nomenclature was never my strong part.
I don't see why it would be a legend. Penn & Teller did this exact stunt on their TV show "Bull****," going around at an environmental rally. They got hundreds of signatures.
It reminds me a similar stunt, asking people on the street what should be done about a supposed conflict with Canada over the overharvesting of the Silverfish.
