Yes, that wouldn't be caution. But there was plenty of evidence.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

There was plenty of evidence both ways.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

assumptions and estimations based on intelligence from 1991... let me ask you DanS, do you make important decisions using 13 year old data?

there was no human intelligence... and Bush completely ignored evidence that didn't agree with his policy (his mind was already made up the day he took office)

You should read Scott Ritter's (UN Weapon Inspector) book. It will educate you about this myth that all the intelligence indicated the picture of Iraq that the president propagated.

There was too human intelligence. Sounds like you're doing some historical revision, Sava.

Apparantly you didn't read the Kay report or the Carnegie endowment's report... the only "human" intelligence that we had was from defectors who had motives for wanting to feed us intel that would lead the US to war. We had no agents on the ground in Iraq... NO HUMAN INTELLIGENCE. Perhaps you are confusing what "human" intelligence is.

I see that you admit that we had human intelligence. Thanks!

when people speak of "human intelligence" they are talking about having agents in the field... there's a clear distinction

when presented with facts, the pro-war drum beaters scatter like roaches... or they fall asleep.

Just go through Colin Powell's presentation to the UN. There was plenty of substantial evidence in that.

Just because we know after-the-fact that, on balance, the evidence that we had pointed only partially to truth doesn't mean that it wasn't solid or substantive evidence.
