I agree that some ultra-feminists can be quite militaristic.
In my country we have an organisation called Vagina Dentata. they have stated that they wish to see a law passed that would make it criminal for a man to walk alone outside after 22.00.
Still I think that mainstream feminism have a lot of good sides to it. The problem is that I think reforms, especially economic reforms, have not progressed as fast as they should. This might make some a bit excessive in their viewpoints, because they see it as a struggle.
Here in the US the glass ceiling is gone, and there are more women then men in every field of study except engineering&CS. Nothing to complain about on the econ front, as there won't be any of those jobs available after a while.
Further, just about every judge in this country has a "The man is at fault" mentality for whatever the case is, he said-she said, divorce, etc. Nothing for women to complain about there.
Pornography is governed by local rules, as is obscenity and some other things. Since Women make up about 51% of the population there is again, Nothing for them to complain about.
Finally abortion, I'm willing to wait for the pro-abortion crowd to abort themselves out of the electorate, and you don't hear or see any bills proposed to the effect of "ban all abortions", so I don't see what anyone's problem here could be either.

Yes, domestically the Bush administration has not been succesful in placating the fundamentalists yet, but in foreign affairs the policy has been to deny women the acces to abortion. This results in unwanted pregnancies, more unsafe abortions and more deaths.
This is an article by the american feminist organisation International Women's health Organisation.
U.S. FOREIGN POLICY UNDER THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION
The Context
Since taking office in January 2001, the Bush administration has pursued a number of policies that threaten the health and rights of women and girls worldwide. Backed by a Republican-controlled Congress, the Administration is eroding global sexual and reproductive health and rights in four ways: by limiting or withdrawing funding from effective programs that it deems incompatible with conservative values; by creating new sources of funding or channeling existing funds through organizations and programs that promote its political and moral agenda, regardless of their scientific legitimacy or public health credentials; by censoring information, advocacy, and research on comprehensive health strategies; and by trying to renege on previous international agreements involving sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Ok denying money to pro-abortion is within the limits of good governance of conservatism. However actively supporting anti-abortion movemnets in foreign countries is that something the US taxpayer should pay for?

Absolutely not, while we are the largest net debtor in the world we should suspend all/as much as possible foreign aide, spending.

Uhm, radical muslims are conservatives.
Radical conservative just doesn't sound right.

I have noted here, and in real life, that generally rightwingers have a problem with women.
Firstly they do not allow women to have control over their own bodies.
Not control over the bodies of others, and yes, babies are people even if they're still in the womb. But how about prostitution? I don't see the Dems making that legal... How about polygamy? Drugs?
Secondly I was surprised to learn that pornography was in my country introduced by a conservative government. Is this true elsewhere in the Western world?
How does that support your premise?
Generally the more conservative the country the later universal suffrage was introduced. Switzerland is the obvious example.
Wyoming was, I believe, the first state to let women vote. Sure, an inducement to get women to move out there, but...
Still even in the most progressive countries women earn less than men.
They generally take more time off from work too.
In many cases the intellectual integrity of women is questioned.
And taken for granted by liberals.
So in more general terms do you think that feminism is a good cause? I have trouble in understanding the anti-feminist stance of the right. Please explain.
Depends on how you define feminism. It is peculiar that many feminists have joined forces with the "religious right" in opposing porn. Birds of a feather...
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh
But even though conservatives tend to have passeistic views on the role of women in society, it doesn't mean they are worse than leftists when it comes to dealing with women individually. I've seen quite a few leftists feeling no shame in letting their wives do all the house chores
This is why my girlfriend and I (she's a lefty, I'm a righty) hire illegal alien women to do the housework, which is something we can both agree on. Besides, being minorities, illegal and women they work for practically nothing.
He's got the Midas touch.
But he touched it too much!
Hey Goldmember, Hey Goldmember!
Ok denying money to pro-abortion is within the limits of good governance of conservatism.
So we should not only force people to pay for abortions in the US, but the world too?
However actively supporting anti-abortion movemnets in foreign countries is that something the US taxpayer should pay for?
Where in that article did you find that? Is this it?

Two things. Is the fact that it is decided by local assemblies not irrelevant in the internet age? Secondly I was under the impression that the supreme court would declare it unconstitutional if it was decided to ban pornography. Anyone know if it was a conservative court that ruled on the lifting of the laws censoring pornography?
Morality could really use a good comprehensive cost/benefit evaluation.
